water not drink
Cool suggestion!! Itâd rlly help to get around quicker
even the deepest sea ruins are at most 130 meters (donât about studs and the ratio of M:S), so are we even gonna sea the highcurrents?
and the sea floor is not that much deeper, so⌠perhaps high currents can start at 400 studs?
perhaps this will be more viable/attractive as a feature when deep sea reefs and canyons will come to the game (if ever). very good suggestion though
Not entirely sure how I feel about this, but seeing as itâll make travel in the Dark Sea potentially fasterâŚ
water is making so many water-based suggestions⌠btw you cooked
I kinda like this idea, but the issue is that the currents are underwater. And very deep underwater.
Thing is, when would you actually use these? Itâs not like theyâll always lead you to another diving spot or anywhere useful, chances are youâll end up in the middle of the ocean and either drown or run out of stamina and die anyways. And you canât reasonably get back to your ship or guarantee a nearby (town) island. These just seem annoying.
Everything about dark sea currents is basically worthless. Giant white eyes spam exists (wouldnât be surprised if this is a bug) and thereâs literally nothing worthwhile underwater in the dark sea.
I think this would be fine if it was currents on the surface of the sea that your boat could interact with. (I think most other people didnât read that these only exist really deep underwater and instantly gave it a positive reply)
These surface currents would give a small speed benefit of maybe 20-60 extra speed depending on the strength of the current. It would make travel a bit more interesting; could probably pair this with a cargo rework or economy rework.
I donât think the idea is thematically or mechanically bad, its just that the qualities and numbers you put in the suggestion are useless at best and terrible at worst.
I donât think they should be exclusively damaging, instead they should be a potential threat but also quite useful.
What I mean is, some currents could maybe be permanent and could help you get elsewhere, like travelling from Sameria, and give you a boost, whilst others may be just random. In that case I think it makes sense for a navigator to warn you if youâre in a current.
i completely forgor about navigators
this is why they spawn closer to the surface in the dark sea
they can spawn near diving spots
again why they spawn close to the surface in the dark sea
and most people with boats have a shit ton of speed already
perhaps the light currents could effect boats as well, allowing faster travel between islands
Youâre still abandoning your boat in the dark sea for just a few hundred studs of slightly quick travel. Thereâs no clarification that being âcloser to the surfaceâ affects boats, or that you can see where they are without dipping in white eyes infested waters.
I guess itâs slightly useful to have a current that leads to a diving spot? (Still not stated or clarified to be guaranteed) But this is still utterly worthless damn near every time.
Itâd be nice for tankier ship builds, or just to let ships do faster because itâs fun.
I still stand by that this suggestion would be entirely fixed if the currents were usable by boats. The sea isnât meant to be traversed without a boat; itâs the reason why flight spells were cancelled.
Im pretty sure i said they were usable by baots somewhere in here
Ah yes right here
