if you guys have been to the dark sea at least once, past the first insanity range, you know what water poisoning is, and how it’s more of a nuisance than a challenge
within the dark sea, you’re meant to explore and scavenge islands in search of loot whilst also fighting enemies and the dark sea itself, which makes water poisoning seem reasonable… if it didn’t punish for exploring
it’s completely at random, it deals tons of damage and it punishes you for… being in the dark sea to begin with, it doesn’t make sense why you should be punished for not sticking to your ship every 5 minutes
one of the ideas i had to “fix” water poisoning is that instead of dealing damage it would act like a debuff, slowing you down or making you deal less damage, but that could be even MORE annoying than now
or keep it as is, but make dark sea rain alter loot tables and chest spawning rates, whilst making it slightly rarer, increasing the risk but also the reward
it’s genuinely one of the worst features in the game since it doesn’t encourage anything and punishes you for doing what you’re SUPPOSED to be doing wtf were the devs thinking
that makes sense but why would I want to do that cargo route a billion times, just having a weaker ship is already hard enough no need to actively hinder non brig users
its an annoyance that doesnt really bring anything, but technically so is every other hazard in the dark sea
if the brig’s basin was actually reliable it wouldnt be too much of an issue, just take 5 seconds to go to the basin whenever you are about to explore an island
everything else is meant to be an actual hazard caused by sloppyness or lack of ship durability, lightning strikes and water poisoning are just not that well thought out
Yeah it obviously should be dangerous but it should be difficult not unfair. fighting atlanteans is difficult but getting struck by lightning and water poisoning while fighting said atlantean is unfair
Its like 1 proper cargo trip from frostmill to sameria + some stuff you sell bro . 20k rn should be at most an hour of work to get if you know what youre doing. Other than that i do agree with water poisoning being a useless and annoying feature
I got another solution
Remove the rain that causes water poisoning in the first place.
Really the water poisoning adds nothing but player frustration even with a brig you have to take a bath every 10 seconds.
Its not like its something that is needed so that a brig is a must for the dark seas when the constant barrage of waves and tornadoes was more than enough to make all ships but a brig usable.
