Alright lets be honest. Mage, in a sense, is pretty bad.
Mage may have a lot more versatility when it comes to spells but in the end it all has the same mechanic: Ranged Combat. There’s only a few close ranged options when it comes to being a Mage and that’s including the Full Release Spell Scrolls. And I know some folk, including me, don’t want to be a ranged spammer all the time when being a Mage.
So here’s the plan: Arcane Constructs.
Lets be able to make our Magic into our own unique weapons, not to be confused with Arcanium weapons which have been a popular suggestion around the game, but be able to replace our Spells with a Weapon Variant of our Magic.
My idea of how this would work is we take a weapon skill note from one of our weapons, or if you have one laying around, and add it into our Magic as if you were to learn a new spell. This Magic Skill will take form of the weapon type, either random or a personal selection within the spell edit menu, where you will use the weapon skill with the elemental properties of your Magic without having to be a Conjurer.
Example: Get a Devastation Weapon Skill, put it in a spell slot within your magic spells, choose what design you’d want your magic to be (like a hammer, great sword, or Great club), and tweak the attack size and amount to your liking, then Boom you now have a Magic Weapon Spell within your arsenal. Upon casting the spell your character will form the weapon with their magic then proceed to launch the skill as if you were to use it with a Weapon.
With this addition, Mages will be able to have more Close ranged options rather than having to fire a spell point blank or spam the Explosion spell over and over again.
My reasoning for this suggestion is that many people don’t like to play Mage, either its too weak or its too dependent on keeping range with your enemy and most of the time the ranged game doesn’t work out too well. With Arcane Constructs mages will have more options in a fight rather than ranged spam or having to find a unique scroll to change their setup.
I hope that many others will agree with me on this and hopefully it could get considered in a future update. ![]()
