I also feel like it’d be cool if certain unique weapons could spawn around the map, stuck in a stone or a tree, or something a bit more unique…

Sort of like how the Excalibur is stuck in a piece of stone, and only a worthy person can get it out!

there are almost NO negatives with this suggestion

That’d be something reserved for lost weapons. Going through all that trouble for an iron weapon is pointless, like I said. Things like iron and old weapons should already be simple enough to buy from a shop, after all, if we’re going to get them anyway, why not just make the process less of a hassle?

Old weapons make sense (rusty claws would be kinda weird to me), but I’d prefer if culture weapons were the way to remedy this as they could have varying level reqs to equip.
Remedy is the wrong word, add to this is probably better.

Good point, hopefully something like that is added for the lost weapons update

do you honestly think vetex would go through the trouble of making culture weapons that aren’t as simple as reskins?

the only culture weapons we’re getting are reskinned ones, i.e bronze sword/ravenna greatsword

why are you insisting on restricting weapon levels?

If the weapon isn’t special in anyway, it shouldn’t be restricted. Powerful culture weapons(Ravenna Greatsword, Doomwood Spiked Clubbed), I can see them having a level requirement since you don’t want level 50s running around with those.

Not all weapons are created equal, you already brought up two examples (Ravenna Greatsword in AO, Doomwood Spiked Club in AA).

Okay, that makes sense, I thought you wanted to restrict all culture type weapons.

Spiked doomwood club
Sword of doom’s wrath

Ngl all shop npcs need improvements

While I’ve never had this problem, I can see it being an issue in some unlucky playthroughs. Really though most or all NPC’s that sell things need buffs.

when i first played ao on release and went to redwake as a warlord, i found it reasonably easy to explore redwake and get a load of varied weapons…it was super fun…

sometimes i wish i could go back to release day, y’know?

im pretty sure that feature was in wom and it might come in the future

I honestly expected this to be in the game on launch, surprised it wasn’t.

This is planned, it’s not gonna be the common weapons it’s going to be the island specific weapons, which would still be more than enough cause they’ll be various weapon types and level ranges

So? They should still sell normal weapons.

i agree that its weird a damn armorer npc wont sell any weapon, but i dont really think its necessary either considering how easy they are to find. hell, im pretty sure i had two dozens before even reaching elius. having to use the weapon types you found forces you to adapt, and makes getting new ones randomly a bit more exciting

plus im almost sure the next set is gonna be level 100 to 200 or 250, so youll find plenty before having to get new ones (not that you are even forced to anyway, they have just somewhat smaller attack)

so the suggestion… makes sense logic wise but isnt needed imo. its better to have the game designed around weapons being easy to find randomly rather than forcing warriors to buy even more stuff than other builds again.

did you READ the post

My argument is that weapon obtainment should not be limited to chests only, period. An NPC like an armourer or a blacksmith should sell old weapons at level 1, and NPCs at major islands should sell iron weapons at level 50.

There are no downsides to adding this, AT ALL. The only thing I can see is Vetex spending time on adding this to the game, but if it’s to make the game make more sense, I can see him adding it.

And yeah, sure, everyone eventually finds a weapon chest later on, but again, why is it limited to only chests? Does that make sense to you?
