Effect: Weapon stances would be warriors first awakening, allowing them to change their stance for different stat buffs. Somewhat inspired by the idea of Oracle’s awakening (even though they are in no way similar). This may also change animations for weapons but that may be doing too much.
Power stance (damage): Significant damage boost
Guard stance (defense): Significantly increased blocking power that can’t be pierced through (true damage reduction) and a bit of resistance (would work like the actual stat)
Flow stance (speed): Significantly decreased start-ups and end-lags as well as more projectile speed/faster mobility usage
Control stance (size): Significantly increased base size, so it doesn’t have damage fall-off
Additional Information: You could change stances mid-combat, maybe through a hotkey
Alternate Effect: Stances could increase the efficiency of weapons for their respective stances (excluding guard stance), like power stance may increase damage efficiency for skills so they scale more based on your power
Reasoning: +2.5% damage and +5% speed can hardly be called an awakening we all know and heard this a million times.
i mean, any “significant” x boost really can’t be too big so it can stay comparable to the stat changes of conjurer and warlord imbuying. don’t get me wrong, it would be cooler than a single static buff you can never change or turn off, but it probably wouldn’t be the gamechanger you think to stay balanced.
Kind of has the problem of sort of being a permanent mode, and feels way too similar to Oracle (despite oracle likely being synergy focused while these are stat focused).
Warriors first awakening will never be changed. Vetex has said the only reason the awakening feels meaningless now is because of constant nerfs from the balance team over two years.
Somewhat true. It did become completely meaningless because of the balance team, but it’s Vetex’s responsibility to direct it in the first place as his game’s designer/director.
Besides the balance’s gutting, it still always felt bland compared to the others’ due to its oversimplistic visual changes and effects—something further amplified prior to launch when the awakening card detailed it further than it is in-game.
i can tell, in pvp, warrior awakening is like.. the best awakening beetwen pure classes, i mean:
Mage has a second magic with +120 points (-1.5 tier that looks like hybrid magic) and the only good spells that you can add to it are blast and beam, i will need to wait 2 updates more to get the cool spells in my second magic with a decent tier
Zerker has the same problem, the only good fs for second spec is boxing for tp and blocking power AND the first skill isnt unlockeable at 0 strength points like blast because vetex thinks fs m1 counts like a skill or something idk, so you get less tier on the rest of techniques
if mage or zerker could get an option of choosing if you want a second spec or free stats (like warrior awakening) I SWEAR everyone would choose free stats, after all you will use your first spec because is 100% better than your second magic, that or choose second magic for light (tp and arcanium)
While not the case for fighting styles, a second magic usually entails a second status effect, either strengthening your first or serving as an increased damage source. All in all, it basically is a massive damage increase when also considering synergies.
this was responding to a berserker awakening change which is fine where its at, that message is also very vague for 2 reasons
1, grammatically, they couldve meant “awakening’s” which couldve meant “awakening is” referencing just the berserker one (berserker awakening is not being changed)
2, on the banned suggestion guidebook, there are no rules saying awakenings cannot be changed
in short: balance team is either bad at grammar or bad at maintaining their documents
i feel like most pvpers would disagree with this, but you’re welcome to ask them yourself to see what they think
from what ive seen, the entire community agrees that warriors awakening is just kind of bad
they get javelin too, but second magic is mostly for synergies
if you go snow for your second magic with wind (like i did) you not only increase your winds damage by 10% but you also apply a 0.5 second slow, which is roughly what the power stance could do but without the slow
this is true but the utility boxing provides is insanely good not to mention fighting styles are really strong in the current game, the utility alone is much better than what warrior has
no. nobody would except you i guess, id always prefer a second magic unless i was playing shadow mage and boxing utility makes berserker awakening probably the best pure class awakening atm (but does decrease berserker variety)

actually we both dont know, but yea i like my second magic too but, you know, shadow exist… imagine now a shadow mage with free stats like warrior, after all things like shadow, earth or metal doesnt need synergies bc they are raw power
