A bolt of magic zips right above your head, barely missing you by an inch or so. You look up, face to face with a wizard radiating crashing waves of magical energy. They smirk, and points their crooked finger towards you,
“I finally found you! You thought you can hide from me!?”
I get caught off guard by the sudden outburst of heat coming quickly at me.
“Lightning?”
She sends a second one; way stronger than the first. This one, I think, will miss by a few centimeters but something feels off. The hairs on my head rise trying to connect the static and close the gap. The beam arc’s towards my hair and I feel it. I fall to the ground, unable to move or talk, only my eyes can say the situation I have gotten myself into this time.
“I actually did it, Wow. That wasn’t hard at all. Did you really think you could run around in the War Sea’s and me not know? There’s no help for miles.”
1 Second
She was indefinitely right. I had told Morden to wait for me on the ship, there was no way he could get to me on time. Just needed to waste 3 more seconds of his time, although I wasn’t in a position to be making demands. I shifted my eyes to a confused look, hoping that the anime backstory I longed for would come.
“Do you really not know who I am? Are you serious??? There isn’t any fun in killing if you have no idea who I am. I’ll tell you half of the story and if you don’t remember I’ll give you the scar you gave me!”
2 Seconds
2 seconds. I needed 2 more seconds until I could regain control. I try to gather any memories of scars as my mind turned blank. When I met Morden I was unconscious and had no clue or memory of how I got there. I was baffled on how she cared about me that much when I didn’t. I though of giving her a proper funeral if I live through this. IF.
“I had it all, a camp to stay, friends to be with, and a suitable looting spot. Then out of nowhere everyone gets vaporized. Dead. Gone. Can’t even bury them. My arm was totally gone. I had to go to a doctor who fixed me up then reported me the the Grand Navy!!! After that The only thing I felt besides he pain was this calm and determined magic energy. I took note of that and hunted down all the wizards I could find.”
289 Seconds
She spoke her backstory for a long time, even sobbing a bit. During this time however, I wasn’t paying attention. I was thinking about a memory I had before I woke up. It was some kind of riddle but I don’t remember much.
“Welp,” I said getting up onto my feet “Nice story and all, but I gotta go. Take this as a bit of gratitude until the next wizard comes and kills you.” I wave as I walk towards my ship.
“NO! I WANT TO KILL YOU! Those were my friends back there and you mercilessly killed them. That isn’t fair!”
She was turning insane. I’d just realised she had took my magic dagger and obviously, with her mental state, couldn’t handle it.
“Sorry about this, but I guess you’ll have to die now.” I flicked a blast of lightning at her as she was vaporized.
(Sorry for being late )
