Weirdest true captain achievement

So I’ve been holding off on the true captain badge cause I misread the badge and thought you had to stay in range 1 / insanity 0 for 45 mins to get it.

It was only after hunting for sirens in range 2 / insanity 1 that it finally clicked for me that I had to stay 45 mins in Range 2. Which was surprisingly hard when you actually intend to do it. I’ve been struck down by lightning twice (, These two runs failed) , whirlpooled, and finally got jumped by a brig right after exiting insanity 1 . Yet somehow. After being jumped by this said brig, I decided to swim all the way back to the war seas. Just out of spite for sinking my brig.

And what do you know, it worked. I got back to the war seas after a good 20 min swim / dash to be awarded with the badge. I guess your boat can be sunk, but as long as your crew is dead fine, you’re a true captain I suppose…

I have also swam back the bronze sea from the edge of the insanity 1 range. But unlike you, I was not greeted with the true captain badge and was instead greeted by my friend’s brig that took me to the far ranges and left me stranded on an island for the next few hours.
