Sea water naturally contains magic energy and thus when a sword is dipped into the sea due to the large period of time spent absorbing magic energy it eventually becomes a devourer. It’s the same way a sunken sword is made essentially however sunken swords are more water based. Essentially the magic energy in the sea salt of the ocean reacts with the sword allowing it to conduct/absorb. Thus it makes them 10x more rare and valuable due to it taking decades.

wait so you could have an offshore devourer/sunken sword/arcanium farm the same way you make oyster farms

Potentially? I’m not really too sure about it and maybe we’ll see it in the future

No, that’s what you get when someone with Angry Magic puts a disco ball on their head.

Bipolar magic ancient variant (founding user is kanye west)

and where can I learn this magic O esteemed sorceror?

SEA SALT!!!

TODAY I CHUGGED SEA SALT UNTIL I BECAME THE MOST POWERFUL IN THE WAR SEAS!!!
Proceeds to cough excruciatingly hard

so my sunken that has been in water for centuries is a devourer

I theorise since the Sea was polluted due to Acherons many attacks it might have acquire properties of the absorption blessing

I’m guessing there’s an extra step that may have been left out, because there has to be a reason why sunkens aren’t devourers, they are, or its just a plot hole.

devourers are made out off.. hmm.. lets see here..

They’re made out of a devourer!! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

given that I THINK magic and curses are conflicting with one another (as to why curse users struggle to use magic bar the magic of their curse, or their original magic, I think it’s the former though), sunkens being cast with water magic makes them unable, or at least, unviable to be used as devourers, because whatever magic is on them can interfere with a devourer process unlike a regular devourer

Basically it seems to boil down to devourers being submerged on the magnitude of many decades, whereas sunkens are submerged on the magnitude of many centuries. The way I see it, the arcanium/devourer will eventually have absorbed so much magic energy from the water after multiple centuries that it will be “sated” and start producing magic energy rather than absorbing. Similar to how normal arcanium will start producing a magic if channeled through it for long enough.

They are made out of arcanium metal that can hold an immense amount of magic energy so that’s why it’s used to absorb curse out of someone. ( because curses have infinite magic energy)
