What are some ways that spirit weapons could work?

I’m not discussing how they might work but how they could work.
I think maybe they’ll use HP for skills and not directly be weapons but more like wands and the like. (like in this video)
Or they might be spirit-imbued weapons, who knows.

I know this gonna sound dumb, but basically, what if they kinda worked like weapons, but scaled off of the vitality stat?

now I know that sounds basic, but now let’s talk about what else I had in mind, what if spirit weapons can scale in damage on how much damage you take? while in combat with an opponent? the more hits you soak, the stronger your weapon gets, of course this would cap eventually, but it seems like this really capitalizes off of the boosted regen as well as higher HP, and it gives the warden a formidable offensive option as well, builds like knights, paladins, and juggernauts may not benefit as much, but they have magic and weapons, and FS to compensate.

iirc it was said somewhere that yes they do consume health to use skills but I don’t exactly remember where and hell this could’ve been made up by my ever-failing psyche.

I don’t know how I feel about that. Warden-esk stuff is supposed to be the like ‘tank class’, and turning health into a resource is kinda the opposite of tanky, it just means you have on average as much health as everyone else because you have to burn through a chunk of it for combat. Still, a part of me still recognizes that it’s the best way to make vitality builds stand uniquely on their own.

what if instead of the damage you take it scales off of your health bar the lower the health the higher damage your weapon does

no that sucks

nobody wants to play in constant red HP just to be able to do damage

Why not just make it have low damage who wants their only method of damage to be killing them

well wardens are meant to be able to soak up a lot of hits, so something that builds in power the more you get hit would be good.

Now this does NOT mean you have to always be in red HP, you can get hit, be in combat, and even if your HP regens (which it should pretty quickly since wardens heal faster too) you still keep the small damage boost from that one hit, which stacks up to a certain amount.

honestly i want something similar which is zanpaktous from bleach with the whole gimick of a person inside the weapon

maybe it works like some kind of weapon where the more you hit with it in succession in a certain timeframe the stronger it gets

i mean it could be along the lines of x warrior was so great his spirit was sealed in the weapon and it damages ur enemies soul

And they could be like stand-ins for the Zanpakto spirit thing?

it’d be pretty similar so i think it could work

Well consider full vitality, they get damage resistance
That probably means self damage too
