I was just thinking of this: Relics can imbue things with their base stats (un-enchanted), and we know this effects everything it can imbue, including magics… but I don’t think anybody actually gave its Imbuement properties?
Like Magics and Styles have their own way of modifying stats that isn’t 1-1 with them; hell, I’m pretty sure theres even a difference when a magic imbues a Fstyle VS a Weapon— so how does it work for Relics?
How much damage does the Patrimony increase damage by? How much speed does the Crystal orb give? How much Size are you getting out of the Staff of Night?
Also who do we even get this information from? or how was it obtained in the past…
Please read the Solved Comment, it has an image showing that Relics do affect imbuement stats aside from providing Regen and a Synergy.
im pretty sure thats just the weapon’s affinity thats imbued
eagle patrim gets increased damage because its lightning affinity, which has synergy with bleed
This seems slightly bugged when Relics are imbued onto magic, but the functionality does exist:
Relics do get their stats modified from Magics, my crystal orbs blast goes from 262 unimbued to 240 when imbued with Plasma.
Magics don’t seem to be affected by this— my plasma magic doesnt change damage from 302 regardless of what its imbued with; although any patchnote mentioning Imbue says Spirit should effect stats with their Relics default.
I’m 99% sure that the error for Relics → Magic is because Magics never had their stats modified before, as there isn’t much reason for this to arbitrarily not apply to them (Paladin always had some bug related to Relic → Magic not working in some way, i wouldn’t be surprised)
Weapons and Fighting Styles are effected by this though— my noble spear’s m1 deals ~120 on my Knight without imbue, and 101 with Staff of Night imbue; my juggernaut deals (both with 0 heat, so no synergy should apply) 175 with crash unimbued, and 166 with crash imbued using the Ember staff.
Other than that its just synergy effects (this is here mainly to show others that the stats are affected)

Staff of night has 0.90x 1.1x 1.1x
Crystal orb has 0.9x 1x 1.2x
Ember staff has 0.95x 1.1x 1x
Unsure about differences between spirit imbues on fs, weapon and magic, though I have also never seen anything saying that they are differentiated
It does appear relic imbues (specifically damage) are bugged for magic, so I’ll look into it now
Than you for this, I was way to lazy to look for this pathnote (as it does imply that Relics are capable of modifying stats, yet it doesn’t explain why Magic stats aren’t altered).
I was also under the impression that the crystal orb did make my attacks faster, yet the lack of a damage change had me skeptical of this, so I originally thought of it as placeebo, but I’ll get on later today to provide some videos of some kind of difference.
AO fandom wiki, AO Miraheze wiki, and AO-tools does state that the synergies (of magics) are modified depending on if it goes on a Weapon or Fighting style, so i’d assume magics would slightly differ on Relics, and that Relics would share such features too.
Although i must say all three of them disagree on what stats are and aren’t modified (All of these are Plasma Magic btw):
