for anyone who hasn’t, i most highly recommend Generations since it’s so accessible, but if you’re willing to deal with older consoles then Unleashed has the best level design and feel if you can get over the night stages (i still enjoy them), and Colors for the Wii if you have one that still works lol
Colors on PC is not the best, but if you’ve never played the original then it could still be fun tbh (i might get it honestly)
For Sonic I’m split between Sonic & Sega All Star Racing Transformed and Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Those two I definitely played the most a couple years back
Mario Kart 8 since I really liked the tracks, more specifically Yoshi Circuit and Mario Circuit. My brother owned the game so I played with him a lot
For Pokémon it’s Pokémon Rumble World which is a free game that was on the Nintendo 3DS

and gen 4 is my favorite in terms of design anyway

i can agree that a lot of the pokemon weren’t my taste
one of the very few flaws of gen 5
didn’t help that the starters and other gen 5 pokemon got oversaturated with a lot of focus games revolving around them
like the Pokepark sequel or Mystery Dungeon Gates to Infinity
least it beats getting a 5th charizard variant

yeah, they had a weird energy to them ngl, like even my typical “pick the reptile” bias didn’t really draw me to serperior
For pokemon I gotta pull out the sleeper hit Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. Gale of Darkness is probably my all time favorite game, let alone favorite pokemon game. Also the soundtrack in Gale of Darkness SLAPS, so if y’all have never heard it before you should go take a listen.
My favorite Mario game is probably Luigi’s Mansion for the Gamecube. Maybe a weird choice, but I played it at a similar time in my life as Gale of Darkness and it was one of the first games I actually fully completed.
And, believe it or not, I’ve never actually played a Sonic game

Pokemon: I’d say either black or platinum, and if we count spinoff I LOVE explorers of the sky. Also scarlet I guess it sucks and very buggy but I do have to give it credit for giving my favourite pokemon a cool evolution (kingambit)
Mario: super mario rpg legend of the seven stars 
Sonic: sonic riders ftw

Mario: probably like mario bros for the Wii

Pokemon? X/Y, This isn’t counting fangames by the way (which infinite fusion and insurgence easily sweep)
Mario? 3D land (tied with OG SM RPG)
Sonic? Idk i haven’t played a real sonic games but if i had to say those shitty sonic fangames on newgrounds that had cool interactive anime battles between the sonic characters and whichever overpowered OC the creator decided to add in their game

My top three favorites are Super Mario Galaxy 2, Mario Kart, and Mario Strikers Charged.
Never played pokemon. Although I had sonic colors and mania, I never really got into them.
