the whole point of the backrooms is that youā€™re all alone, but you have the feeling that you might not be entirely alone.
having a creature chase you and kill you just takes away from the concept

The only one of these that I have ever considered to be somewhat good was one where the guards supposed to be able to unable to damage people if those people hadnā€™t attacked first. But it was bugged and didnā€™t work for most people. (that or it was the other way around)
Either way, it was a game that I would occasionally mess with people on because I was immune to damage and made full use of that by following people into places I shouldnā€™t be and then watching as they were unable to remove me.
