it isn’t, purple is a perfectly good colour for storm, especially considering we have purple lightning magic already
the eye of the storm is the centre of the storm, and as the user of the storm curse he would perpetually be in the centre of whatever storms he causes, it makes sense i think

I feel like if it was a curse we didn’t know yet tech or vetex would say that

then again they could also be keeping it hidden intentionally
but like, I really don’t see any outside possibility beyond another storm related user (which would be boring) or some kind of mental-oriented experimental curse
i mean there’s aether winds in elysium, so you’d assume storms (if any happen up there) would shoot down aether lightning
poison lightning is just mashing two things that literally have nothing to do with each other together and calling it a day
if tech is gonna give us a hint, he’s gonna give us one that would actually help us figure it out instead of just making sense in retrospect
