So AO does do a fairly good job at offering loads of different activities to do and get loot from, however some of these activities could definitely do better with a bit more thought behind it, such as fishing.
AO does have a decently wide range of attacks which is nice, I just wish that warrior had less bloat with grab moves and more unique moves.
As stated here, if I didn’t enjoy the story or the core aspects of the game (evil-ass pirate wizards), I wouldn’t be spending my time creating what is basically a fanfic-take on one of the possible Corsairs where I detail the big kahunas of the crew, spent my time creating lost and ancient mutations for every base magic (lost and ancient spirit mutations as well).
I know I’ve said a lot of critiques of the game or gone on a rollercoaster of “It’s so over” to “We’re so back,” but the truth is I love AO, it’s quite literally my favorite game. The environment is breathtaking, the classes are really cool, there’s a lot of customization with stats, all the ways you can customize yourself, the list goes on.
I love the evil-ass pirate wizard game, and should something happen where AO dies (I pray to God it doesn’t), I will literally go learn coding and modeling in order to make an entire game that’s basically a love letter to AO. Hell, I’ll even try figuring out how to get a team together as well.

Idk if it was mentioned (or this can be included as environment), but OSTs are fire. Senterea’s work like sailing theme and boss fight themes (Jarl Ivar and Octavius Caesar) are 10/10. Albeit some music was taken from other artists but it is well incorporated. Also, Brought to insanity too blends perfectly with Dark sea.
It is among the best in comparison to its contemporaries in the roblox space (Not a high bar whatsoever but I digress). Also it has this forum which means the community is naturally more closely knit, which in turn has kept this game alive when ordinarily this game would’ve died ages ago without the support of a loyal community who wants nothing but the best for the game their playing. We’ve been loyal since the AA days, we still like the game even when we throw harsh criticism towards it.
Basically being aggresively mid amongst actual garbage and building a foundational community. Probably not the best but oh well.
I really like mage gaming
The customizability. Even just stat builds. I’ve never played a game with as much customization. Don’t even get me started on the ability customization (sure, the newer abilities have less). I don’t think I’ll ever get over being able to make my spells truly mine.
There are problems with the game, but I think THAT is what this game does best (kinda ironic that I’m currently a Warlord main lol).
I will dog on Vetex for the state spirit is in right now every day of the week. But I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t from a place of wanting AO to be the best it can possibly be.
