Basically the title. They just seem like really pointless filler stats that from what I’ve heard are insanely bad
resistance is kind of neat, it makes you take less damage during attack windup. it’s like a better version of defense for people who like charging up their attacks.
armor piercing is basically a potion effect shoved into an armor stat-shaped hole, which makes the armor stats of whoever you hit less effective, debuffing them for a time.
Genuinely: if you aren’t using Warlord or Ice Magic.. don’t build Resistance for anything.
Resistance gives damage reduction only during attack windup (counteracted by Dexterity btw). Most abilities are too fast for you to get much out of this effect, and whilst you could charge your attacks, you’d be taking more hits in the longrun whilst doing that unless you built way too much Resistance to be dealing any significant damage.
AP is fine and reduces stats and increases damage on high health targets. It’s stat reduction is pretty short though, and doesn’t affect Power or Defense.
Huh, it kinda sucks that they put it in everything then. It seems like it should be reworked
100% of my beef is with Resistance. It’s only good if you build so much of it as to not have much of any other stat… and it feels like its on every new armor.
Again, Pierce could work fine against Substat-shills but i feel like you’d need a good amount of Status Duration for it.
it was funny when you could get 98% damage reduction while blocking with resistance, but it’s always been somewhat gimmicky
armour piercing is decent for pve because it makes you deal a bit more damage but power is just better a lot of the time
Does Armor Piercing even debuff other NPC stats, like, at all?
I don’t know if npcs even have stats to debuff
It seems to just increase your damage in those cases?
They seemingly do? Tower NPCs can inflict Armor Pierced, and although limited— Delamere can regenerate through Spirit Imbue, and seemingly takes less damage from Attacks whilst charging; meaning they wear the gear they drop, and are affected by it normally.
@Meta check out this topic bro
people are explaining very well why putting these stats on nearly every new armor set is a bad idea (they’re bad stats)
a lot of NPCs use armor piercing, you can tell because they inflict the status effect.
It works for the full duration of the attack now.
Duration being until the spell fires, or until the spell ends / CD reset? I mostly refer to Windup / Casting Time as the same thing… as before it was just needlessly complicated to mark each individual ‘lag’ caused by using abilities as its own thing.
I believe most people are aware it works the full duration now, or would natively guess such, but it working the entire duration of the cast (charging included now) doesn’t give most people much benefit imo.
I think ~200 Resistance is 33% Damage Reduction… which isn’t enough to warrant staying still for so long, and you get more value out of Dex by using it to not be stunned by Casting time; which makes Dex + Resistance counterproductive.
It applies during the actual attack as well now. So on a spell like Surge or Ray it is very good. Regen + Resistance + Surge or Ray makes for a very funny combo where you can just tank attacks while outhealing the damage.
So yeah, dex and res have anti synergy, but power, res and regen all synergize together, with each increasing your survivability in its own way.
