What does this mean, is my explosion mage finished?

It’s too big brain for my smooth brain

probably not. If i understand correctly, something like light magic will get more benefit from attack size stat. Earth magic doesnt get as much benefit from the attack size stat as it used to. but earth magic will still be much larger than light magic.

honestly, vetex prob wont give a shit and he’ll just do sumn else like what happened with attack speed

Aight so, just a comparison for mages right. Let’s ignore the imbue part of the formula since that’s not relevant to mages.
So we’ll have (Note: Meta said the BaseSize x 3 is a typo, it’s BaseSize + 3):
BaseSize x (1 + AttackSize x AtkSizeBaseMod)
AtkSizeBaseMod:

  1. Explosion (1.3x) - (1.3 + 3) / (1.3 x 4) = 4.3/5.2 = 0.8269x
  2. Light (1.0x) - (1.0 + 3) / (1.0 x 4) = 4/4 = 1x

I’m pretty sure this is how it’ll work for these magics. The end results will be if we assume the modifier from Attack Size is 0.3 in this case:
Explosion = 1.3 x (1 + (0.3 x 0.8269)) = 1.6225x
Light = 1.0 x (1+ (0.3 x 1)) = 1.3x

Efficiency wise it’s a 17.3076% difference in favor of Light for per Atk Size investment. In other words, for Explosion the multiplier from atk size is 1.248x while Light is 1.3x assuming the same investment of +30% atk size.

I’m ngl this is waayyy too many numbers for a funny lego game about pirates and wizards lmfao :sob:

Basically balance team are idiots and want magics to be less and less distinct from each other to achieve “balance” smh

They dont have a clear goal for balancing the game no vision what so ever they just keep making the game more bland.

Thats stupid, the point of explosion is that its big, if they’re so bummed about attack size why not nerf the magics and fighting styles aoe directly? AO’s stats are so endlessly contrived at this point

Worthy punishment for picking mage :hugs:

Okay. I’ll let you think that because I know you can’t be convinced otherwise.

We will keep doing what we have seen work.

here, let me dumb it down a bit for you.
at the current moment:
size + small magic = a fair increase, but it would take a lot of size to get as big as a larger base size magic.

size + big magic = gigantic attacks larger than munera that exceed the sizes of metal mages in release.

after this change,

small magics + size will remain the same,

size + big magics will still get bigger, but it won’t make MUNERA SIZED attacks.

it will still be nearly impossible for smaller magics to exceed the size of larger ones without a crapton of size, overall a healthy change for the game that will still allow specialization.

So essentially it means smaller magics will get more benefit and already large attacks won’t get quite as much benefit from doubling down. Your explosion size build will still be huge. Just not quite as huge in comparison to other builds.

so cool! will they do the same for power and speed too?

Lol cuz “what we seen work” has made lots of “successful” balance changes am i right :sob::rofl:
I told you guys the surge rework was a dumb a idea. Here we are heading into the next update just undoing a bunch bs the b team suggessted :sob:

Bro im telling you guys should be giving the game more depth not dumbing it down smh

Respectfully i need to be made balance lead i wouldn’t even enforce my own ideas onto the game I’d just make sure everyones on the same page. I feel like half the time the b team not even on the same page either. This is who evers leading’s fault theres a reason so many bteam members quit after nimbus.

“I’m not reading allat”

Balancing patch notes:
Nerfed attack speed efficiency by 20%
Nerfed attack size efficiency by 20%

Mark my fucking words either vetex completely ignores it or he uses his own solution.

Personally, I wouldnt be against it

Vetex likes to keep balance changes very simple, so you’re not wrong on that assumption
