Whispering Caverns is a location that exists. All we know is that criminals love this place, theres a mine, it was a former Ravennan colony and its the only place that green mushrooms can spawn.
My thought is, why did the Ravennans abaondon it? It was close to their other colonies, and they could’ve made it into a mini fort or smth.

Yeah but why abandon it? Its the only place that has green mushrooms and i think those would be pretty profitable
since the cave flooded they have nowhere to store stuff like food anymore and only have one building, i doubt the green mushrooms would be worth the effort to completely rebuild whatever base they had there
It’s halfway across the Bronze Sea from the capital, and it’s probably not worth the effort. I don’t think a few crates of green mushrooms would be worth the amount of manpower and resources it would take to make the mine operational again.
Also, if they abandoned it so readily, it’s probably been tapped dry from whatever they mined there.

Aight, I have a theory.
First, it was a small mine island that was probably mining resources that weren’t in shell island coal mines and at the Eternal mines.
Probable reasons of it being now abandoned:
It flooded (and bc now this area is humid, large green mushrooms can grow there. I highly doubt they have existed on this island before the flood and abandoning).
Ravenna miners had found needed resoures at shell/ravenna, so this small mine has stopped giving anything unique and by so was considered useless.
All the resources were simply mined, and nothing has left.
Some kind of disaster has struck the island, causing all people to evacuate.
Destruction of Akursius Keep is somehow related to the Caverns abandoning (considering the Keep is now located nearby).
They milked caverns for all of their worth, and just flooded em. Some people died during whole mining stuff (those skeletons), buut they took everything and moved onto shell island
To give you a comparison. Imagine you are clan which needs to make a mine. What would you pick. Mango isle which is easy to capture but has few ores, or large Harvest, for which you will have a fight?
Ravenna took the W.S. and after some time took Monoah Tribe under their protection, in return for the coal from their mines.
