With the full release around the corner, what do you think will change for PvP players? Since PvP players cannot attack PvE players, how are they supposed to get fame and leaderboard rankings?
Probably nothing will change with the PvPers that actually PvP like how it was (probably) intended
What they do is be forced to fight people who are actually good at PvP and then get sad
People who like more organized pvp should be satisfied by duels, and those who like impromptu hunting should still have their day with others who opt in to pvp.
Ganking was one of the most fun mechanics of the game though, I can hardly think any PvPer will be satisfied with duels
yess
clans and lb players won’t be able to toggle it off i think so nothing really changes for most pvpers who are into world pvp except random casuals stop getting jumped
nothing much, pvp players will just attack and grind other pvp players probably
Alot of the infamy gained in most clans will stagnate and start to fall because they actually have to fight people who also want to fight in pvp.
Clans won’t change much but it will be funny to watch gankers complain about having to fight actual combatants instead of littletimmy48 who’s trying to complete the storyline on his mom’s computer
it’ll filter out the boys from the men
my dream is leaderboard goes back to its original state- when admirals were feared because people thought “they must be really good at the game” and not because “they probably have 67 potions up their ass and have 69 boyfriends on standby the minute I start winning”
hopefully Duels will make that happen, but i doubt the LB will ever clear its name
I’m the type of casual PVPer who really enjoys 1v1s for fun, I think the way this is implemented won’t change very much for me
The gankers will cry
True, but potions help in helpless situations such as 5v1 or 10v1s. No chance without potions.
the existence of a 5v1 or a 10v1 is only propogated by toxic PVP culture. remove that and the only use for potions would be in PVE, as they should
The way it should have been from the beginning. Hard work, skill at the game, and a willingness to challenge likeminded folk in honorable combat.
… All that plus unemployment. It uh, probably will require that too.
Assassinate in the corner:
useless in pvp
its def gonna be peak in pve though
Ya know, I was going to make a joke about PVPers going from this (Highwaymen)
To this (Duelists)
But in hindsight, Darkest Dungeon’s art is way too metal and I could not blame anyone in the slightest for looking at these two and pointing at him and saying “yeah, I’d rather be seen as him and not the cat.”
