What if a modern frigate sailed through the dark sea?

For this experiment, we’ll take the FREMM Frigate, a 6500 ton (on a full load) modern warship produced by the italian company Fincantieri, a lenght of 144 meters and a top speed of 27knots, this vessel’s endurance is about 45 continuous days, its crew of 145 people and can accomodate about 200.

This vessel can be armed with:
1 Combat Management System
1 Bow Mounted Sonar
1 Mine Avoidance Sonar
1 Underwater Telephone
2 25 mm machine guns
1 Torpedo Launching System (2 triple launchers)
1 Surface to Surface Missile (4 x 2)
1 Vertical Launching System (2 x 8 A43 or A50)
1 Torpedo Decoy Launching System (2 launchers) (fitted for)
1 Towed Array (fitted for)
1 76 mm Gun Strales
1 127 mm Gun
2 Fire Control System
1 Anti Air Warfare Decoy Launching System (2 launchers)
2 Navigation Radars
1 Communication - Electronic System Measure
1 Radar - Electronic System Measure
1 Radar - Electronic Countermeasures
1 Multifunctional Radar
1 Surface Surveillance Radar
1 Identification Friend or Foe
1 Transponder
1 Optronic system (only Infra-red)
1 Integrated Communications System
1 Navigation System
2 hangars for NH90 Helicopters

now lets start by sending a full crew of 145 towards the dark sea, waves and

Combat: not like fortified atlantean brigs would have a chance against a Marte ER, an anti ship missile with a 70kg semi armor piercing warhead

Weather: unaffected

Crew health: 2 NH90, naturally being a literal helicopter would go fast enough to reach the bronze/nimbus or even the nimbus lands to bring medical supplies back to the ship

Enemy players: the italian variant utilizes the EMPAR radar system of which offers a surface target detection range of up to 120km (more than enough)

level 117,131 atlantean: hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby situation

will they survive the corroding weather though?
what about the magic hail/lightning/tornado/whatever?

the ship has multiple decks so definitely yes

because of humans being fragile as hell, i like to imagine everyone is just a glass canon in the universe

Humans are surprisingly enduring at times

Tornado but lightning
In a metal ship that can conduct electricity

Would the helicopters be able to make it in and out of the dark sea ok? Like the weather is pretty ridiculous I dunno if any helicopter can make it through that, but I also don’t know much about helicopters.

Chunks of gold the size of people :skull:
Would weight like 20 tons EACH, and it’s falling from the sky
if even one contacts the boat, it’s gonna have a massive hole, not to mention a helicopter

Any Atlantean over like level 300 would be virtually immune to any modern infantry weapons, and their average attack can hit harder than a semi truck

flies above clouds

“Modern infantry weapons” i am talking naval warfare, an anti ship missile is not just a truck

its this

plus the 127mm autocannon

Yeah they’d probably survive

A very hungry atlantean is usually capable of eating ~12 nuclear strikes

How TF you gonna hit them tho
Atlantean dodges faster then turret can turn
And one blast spell and turret is cooked
Not to mention these mfers would probably just jump onto your boat, they are much faster then you think

the magic imbued waves and other weather would tear it apart

dont get me wrong itd probably last longer than your average vessel in game but still

Gotta ask vetex if boats are improved by magic aura or something
Like weapons maybe?

the keraxes ships are built and enhanced by wotans wood curse so its possible

The arcanium cannons, mortars, etc probably are, but anything else probably isn’t(aside from certain exceptions like Fenrirs)

I don’t think arcanium hulls would save an atlantean ship from the damage the cannons on a modern warship could do. It’d probably still get one shot given they still get hurt by the non-magic cannons we use in game. However I do think they could possibly get some damage in with the arcanium cannons. Provided they ever get close enough.

The main thing is the weather, sea monsters, and insanity. They can steer clear of islands and destroy atlantean boats well before they get close. The weather is unavoidable tornados appearing within seconds and whirlpools and magic waves are everywhere. They can kill sea monsters with torps probably, but the sea monsters can be pretty maneuverable so they gotta be real good shots. Lastly the insanity just makes it impossible, they have nothing against it and once they get far enough they’ll be completely delirious, nearly unable to see, and eventually just start dying. At that point it’s no longer possible for them to even operate the ship, much less make it through.

Dark skies are a thing, that shit covers the entire earths atmosphere over the dark sea as far as we know

in whose favor?
