its a sword that prevent curses from shooting out of the user’s body upon death

Just think about this, due to the devourers eventually all curses will end up in the war seas unless the seven seas get around to making some, and unless they go flying off into oblivion, eventually someone will find them, die, have their curse fly somewhere else, until it ends up in the hands of someone with a devourer.
When a curse is devoured does it stay where the user died?
Or get absorbed to the weapon
It stays where the user died, but assumedly curses can be transported as long as you don’t touch it yourself.
well, the war and seven seas are two different animals, the former has 6 or 7 kingdoms that all fight each other with the grand navy mostly focusing on policing piracy, in the seven the arcane gov’t is calling all the shots minus the one-shot pirates and maybe the 6th and 7th seas. in the seven seas the arcane government scoops up all technological hopefuls to hoard for themselves while in the war seas inventers are free to do what they want, the same goes with sea curses as well.
conflict and freedom drives innovation, under the arcane government it’s mostly peaceful and it takes people with extreme power to shake up the seven like morock creed and Arthur curse beard, the former used the most powerful curse to exist while the latter is a living myth.
Wasn’t it that arcanium is the only material that can move a curse

i think he said the sword absorbs it but theres surely a way to get it out
When you impale someone with the devourer, as long as you keep it in the curse won’t materialise. Hence why Beringer was dragged with the weapon still inside him at Cirrus- until he was taken and secured at Fort Talos- where the sword was removed and the curse extracted with it.
