This is a relatively recent one, but the fact that skill notes weren’t a thing for a while, no sparrow thrust on staves and whatnot
On a related note, Staves and Rapiers were actually worth a damn.
holy shit I forgot rapiers were a thing in AO they’re literally one of my favorite types of weapons
but I guess that just proves how obsolete skill notes left them for now
Buildings used to obey the laws of physics.
Cutting Magic Council’s tower in half and watching it fall over was pretty fun.
Isn’t it the same in Sameria now?
I remember seeing that one clip where a tester using a warrior stat build demolished another tester using a mage stat build. This was before AO released.
Catching legendary fish or Sunken items didn’t have a global chat notification (I think, never saw either in WoM though).
Also, this is an extremely niche thing, but if you had a WoM file with Paper, Ink, or Gold Magic and it transitioned to AO, initially it would only show Basic Combat on the File Screen despite being a Savant. If you didn’t play it for long after that, it would change to display Fire Magic and Basic Combat.
being able to technically the rare spell Nebula at 150 magic on your first magic
pretty much there was a bursting option for aura spells that do magic burst attacks that damage opponents a lot like Nebula
Unfortuantely balance team suggested it to be removed and recently it got readded as a rare spell for the next update (full release)
Look at what they have taken from us
level locks during the story, repeatable quests
and costed shitton… (back then 20k is like having 150k now)
measley 20k down the drain - Clipped with Medal.tv
People have these things called headless heads that are worth like 9999999999x whatever u could possibly hope to grind and you could never get richer than them bc of the 5000% seasonal inflation rate
magic jump cooldown
Specifically, you could use Magic Leaps three times in succession before they got put on cooldown. They sent you pretty high up, too.
it had a long as shit cooldown though
I remember when magic leaps were first introduced you could just keep spamming it until you ran out of energy, which was (probably, i don’t remember testing it myself) enough to scale a lot of the silent tower.
There used to be Armor, Sailor, and Weapon Chests, as well as Food Crates and Ingredient Bags, alongside the basic Treasure Chests. It was that way until an update soon after the Dark Sea dropped.
Private Storages also used to have Blue and Green colors, before they all became Pink in AO.
Hey I remember that!
sprinting cost stamina
all weapons except for two boss drops used to only have m1s, and the two that had skills only had one each
Dashing didn’t exist
