What is a feature that new players wouldn't believe used to exist?

Kinda funny to imagine post-Full Release that 6th gens might have no idea spirit wasn’t a thing for 2 years and it used to be called “vitality” with the full class being “warden”

Mages and Berserkers used to get a 10% damage boost. Not Warriors because their first awakening is only a stat boost.

Paladins and Juggernauts used to get secondary slots, and spirit imbues didn’t exist.

Stat Resets used to be unavailable past a certain level (this was before Interchange Potions).

Map markers didnt exist (got removed for some time) and players were forced to use the compass and island waypoints to travel island to island

I still have no idea up to this day why people complained about this, I could and still can navigate the world just fine without them and the problem of fog was lost with when Vetex added the dark sea and the brig.

Full Release is fortunately reviving them… by killing spears and staves. (P.Gale and S.Thrust will be compatible with Rapiers.)

keep in mind every weapon will have all their skills by full release if moochezz keeps working fine, and some people will want to keep the default movesets

theres actually one thing that i remember that is very, VERY easily overlooked (or it actually never exist and im spreading misinfo rn)

Back in wom, if you have arrow (idk if dagger also has this) stuck on your body, when you charge, your magic also visually leaking from the wound.

am i crazy for wanting no map marker back… it was kind of fun sailing using the compass and islands as points of reference

no marker back then was fire but all the casual players got angry and saying they couldn’t travel island to island (its insanely easy), at least we have it as an option though but still :broken_heart:

In older videos of palo town it also seems like the island was very frequently flooded by tsunamis

That wasn’t your magic leaking from the wound, it was your magic attaching to the blade/head of the dagger/arrow like it would on an equipped weapon (it still actively does this)

This is just to bloat my 2 year experience with this game:

  • Before the brewing update, fish past 20 hours turned into rotten fish instead of bones like they do now, and these fish only sell for 1 galleon and always ruin food.

  • You could claim two islands before the Empires Update.

  • Natural-spawning icebergs actually worked for more than 5 minutes before the Dark Sea.

  • You couldn’t server hop in-game and had to leave and rejoin (which took longer).

  • We had almost a whole month without a server list.

  • Animations for running and other actions were different and your character could tilt their head.

  • Luck was extremely overpowered pre-nimbus, allowing people to get master angler in mere WEEKS.

  • You couldn’t disenchant items, dash, or even get certain types of FISH in WOM, because the area for catching them wasn’t even built. Also, parrying used to be called a “perfect block” and blocking in general stopped your character’s movement.

  • The UGC store.

There’s some more stuff I’m not bothered to mention but don’t forget, we really take this game for granted.
