There’s a few quests i really hate and almost never do:
-Anglerfish quest
This quest is extremely RnG based, it could take forever or 2 minutes depending on your luck. At least the Tiberian cook quest only needs you to catch a giant fish, but this one is just one specific fish. And the XP, while a good amount, isnt worth the time.
-Bandit camp quest
Just… why? Why would anyone do this? A complete waste of time. Doing the easy quests is already enough for you to fight Shura. Feels useless.
-Rubica Seashells quest
Again, very useless. You’re gonna be spending a lot of time in Ravenna at that point, and by the time you actually finish it you would be max level from other quests already.
Enzior’s quests
I hate this guys quests. All of them. His recruitng quests are continuous, and since everyone’s also doing it, they’re RnG based and if ur unlucky it takes a long time to get them. Besides you’re probably level 40 already before you finish them. Yeah Edwards first quest was pretty boring, but its very convenient and kind of teaches you how to play the game, and his second quest is actually creativ (altho a bit too short), requiring you to actually fight. Enzior’s second quest, while is interesting and requires exploration, is horrible. It disables his entire ability as a quartermaster, so if someone doesnt have edward, have fun spending an hour unloading cargo. Its also RnG based, although a lot less tedious. It requires going into the Dark Sea, which i dont think players who just reached lvl125 can go in. If you’re going in the dark sea you’ll need a good ketch or a brig, and by the time youve saved enough galleons for that you dont even need the quest
This is the one for me. It’s not useful like Enizor’s. It’s not something that you can do a bit more passively like the anglerfish or seashells quest. Also unlike the Arish Vista quest it wasn’t even previously a good quest.
The anglerfishing quest took me literally half a year. The biggest insult is the fact that castaways and my crew gave me like a dozen of them over that period.
I never had a problem with any of the quests you mentioned above but what I did have a problem with was that one Ravenna cooking quest and the Sailor Style quest (Pre Easter Update, they were so hard to find)
Literally any quest that makes me go back and forth. And the worst offender is the Stepstone story quest.
I did the quest before knowing the t-jump technology so I climbed it “the vetex way” which is more much slower. And all that is to talk to the man after climbing the stepstones by going back down again and tells me to go back up again.
Sky Apple Fetch Quest - Usually, the items in the Stepstones have already been picked up by other players so it’s a mild annoyance having to server hop to complete it. Just a minor inconvenience and I still do the quest though
Souvella’s Quest - Really hard to do at the level you’re at and RNG dependent, overall not worth it
Arish Vista Duel - Exp not worth the fight as Arish Vista can get really annoying to fight against at the level you unlock him
Feremius/Dame Caessenia Duel - Overall became harder to fight overtime, especially when they got wall immunity the Faction Minibosses has. Add their parrying and zoning abilities (Feremius in general and Dame’s Double Flintlocks), and you’re gonna take longer than usual to kill em
There are worse examples of npcs with no ability cooldowns
(level 160 npcs using an ultimate art 5 duration explosion magic placed pillar explosion every 2 seconds which causes me to get 5 fps and slowly take damage until I die)
That quest for the wheat field in Ravenna was pretty annoying, since it required you to go back and forth across the entire sea to get the stuff you needed.
The bandit camp back at the jaws were pretty disappointing, was kind of hoping that there’d be a side quest line where you had to deal with the jaws pirates.
Basically any npc that is somewhat nearing your level or above has such a range in how difficult they could be. I have been killed by level 90 npcs but killed a level 370 easily.
That quest’s usually free exp for me, but it might depend on a person’s luck.
This one’s easy, just time-consuming.
here is my list of opinions of most frustrating quests in AO:
-Arish Vista quest
-Monoah Village’s Harvest:That hot garbage of a quest either takes quick work for me, or i do it after maxing out a file, which is usually in 10-15 hours.
-Anglerfish:Same reasoning as in the post.
Prove Yourself (Maya's Quest)
At that point that you get the quest…it’s literally ridiculous for it’s difficulty, and i am only able to do it when maxing the file, or when my ship has basically no equipment (i am a good ship driver sometimes), which means that one ship volley=death.
Fishing for Gold (Ravenna Item fishing quest)
-This quest usually takes forever to get for me at the point that i get it…or it’s as easy as the Giant Fish one, it really varies between my playthroughs.
Stolen Heirloom (Treasure Chart Ravenna Quest
-We don’t talk about this one.it takes me like 10-30 hours to complete on average.
the arish vista quest 100%
he’s annoying to take down at the level you’re supposed to fight him
you have to spawn a sky ship otherwise you just can’t get to him unless you have a high agility build
he gives almost the same exp as the frostmill ice mines quest
the only ‘redeeming’ factor is that you can farm reputation somewhat easily
sure it’s easy, but why the FUCK would I want to go all the way to frostmill, seeing as I am presumably doing the quest for exp, and most other quests that give a decent amount of exp at that level cap are literally on the opposite side of the map if I went to it. This isn’t even mentioning people who have slow ships.
nah trust me, enizor quest gonna be worth it for sure. in the future he gonna give us immortality, the ability to transmute items, become a god, mimhere island logpose and probably the hardest of them all, bitches.
The bandit camp back at the jaws were pretty disappointing, was kind of hoping that there’d be a side quest line where you had to deal with the y music versi lama.
