That’s a Flare Gun orb; comes from Level 3 Fleet Research, and shooting it lets you find your ship more easily if you have a quartermaster equipped.
This is a total lie btw, the range of them noticing the flare is abysmal, you’re better off just using your eyes or your sensing. Funnily enough, eyes reach the farthest. Why, Vetex?
Also it agros enemies on you so imagine using it in the dark reaches
It isn’t nearly as threatening as it sounds. True, the enemies will instaaggro on you if you get in their general vicinity, but they won’t rush you down from every angle of the island, their detection range is the same, you’re just given almost no time to exit it if you enter.
Also, bigger atlanteans just got lobotomised, apparently. They barely ever want to move forward, only preferring to spam attacks. Outrange them and thats game over. They’re not gonna rush you down unless you get in melee range.
All that I’ve said is only relevant if you are using Stealth talent. The results may differ if you don’t
