As I am writing this I am coming back from a dark sea expedition, but I really don’t feel like it’s worth it. It takes me ages to sail to i2 and ages to sail back. I’ve been on the expedition for hours now and it doesn’t even feel like I got that much for my time.
As of now I just do siren rocks in i2 but it’s not really working, so what’s your favourite method to do the dark sea?
Oh yeah and im coming back with most of my durability consistently so I’m not worried about that
It’s just a lot of time and stress (especially from sea monsters and atl ships)
I usally only go to i 0 for the sealeds some some regents, (though now i gotta go i1 for the athena wisdom) though my fave method of dark sea is pretty much just moderately bulky ship + the maintenance deckhand for the free % repairs
back when i only had 23.6k ship durability i was occasionally able to outpace the dmg i took if i actively avoided colliding with waves (no artifacts that reduced the waves dmg) and now i have 25.9k (and more if i switch to one of the talents that give a crew)
high speed, all weather resistance artifacts in insanity 0
I’m not a huge fan of ship combat which is why I don’t go to i1
hitch ride on strangers/friends like the blind-as-a-deaf-bat, bum ass, “i sank my ship thrice just trying to get to the 2nd range in one evening” bitch i am
Still wondering to this day what the point of going past i0 is NGL
untill the athena pages got added i always stayed in i0,but once i get all the pages I’ll just go back to sailing i0 till dragons are added
what ship build is that
siren rocks, they are not too rare and always guarantee 3 sealeds while not being too huge so u dont waste time searching an island half the size of ravenna and the athena notes that occassionaly come with them
they are also really easy to spot thanks to sirens singing + sensing helps too
Roam in i1, using sense whenever I hear sirens singing, avoiding most islands ← is what I do when I need some dark sealed chests.
But whenever I want some real ‘dark sea experience’ I just go to the far reaches.
New animals, actually horrifying atlantians, reagents and possibility of finding epicenter!
