What is your OC like?

Hello there! I am new to the community and this category caught my interest. To those of you who dabble in a bit of writing, maybe have an OC or two, out of curiosity, what are you guys’ personal OCs? I’d love to know what they are like.

I’ll go first. My OC is Gunther Bismark, an Ice Conjurer. In a player-less AU, Gunther is a Tiberian stowaway living in Frostmill with a knack for fishing (because I’m more than 40 hours in and I’ve mostly just fished). He worships a few Ancient Greek Gods, Prometheus the most as he granted humanity the gift of magic. To him, they are the only true gods of the world.

Ahahahaha @Mirage @ismokepencils sacrifice.

stayed up until 5am writing lore for this very moment

My oc, Diane, is meant to be a player stand-in, but there are MAJOR divergences from the original AO story (not to try to “improve” the story in any way, but just to manipulate events in order for them to make more sense to her narrative. pls dont kill me vetex and techlevel ur my goats)

She is (unknowingly to herself) a Dark Sea monster living amongst humanity for the past decade, having been experimented on by the Order. However, once she awakens her magic, she gets connected to a string of murders that leads to finding about the OoA, and then canon story ensues

Personality wise, she is not the brightest, and gets into trouble a lot for her clumsiness and lack of grace. Having just unlocked her magic, she is very reckless with it, yet her direct descendance from the divine lets her get by mostly fine with pure, raw strength. At the beginning of her journey, she starts off wanting to do good to be able to stop and clear her name from the murders, yet as time goes on, and she learns more about herself, she starts getting paranoid and will start to do good deeds with the thought of showing the people around her that she’s not a threat to them.

tl;dr a morally good sea monster goes on a downward spiral on a path of self discovery

I don’t have an OC, I just write. Maybe I’ll come back some other day with a proper response.

All of my AO characters are boring and the list of personal ones I’ve made would have me yapping an entire college level essay if I tried to explain each of their personalities and quirks

WHAT I JUST SAW THIS IM SO SORRY I WAS OFFERED AS TRIBUTE??? aight ill talk about my pirate man :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Ancizar Tempest is a pirate, a lightning saillock, and in-lore has a bounty of 20 billion (based off on the time of that renown glitch, where I did get 20 billion in-game by accident), and I’ve basically written him as one of the most wanted people in the entirety of the War Seas. In his lore, he was a street urchin from the slums and has gone through lots of hardship, grit, and trauma to get to where he is now. Like bro genuinely lived in a world where he had every right to hate it. I’D ALSO LIKE TO NOTE HES NOT INCLUDED IN THE MAIN STORY WHATSOEVER. He’s not the MC in the universe of AO.

In terms of his personality, he’s in love with freedom more than anything else. He’d rather chase for the next thrill and adventure instead of terrorizing the War Seas. A devil-may-care, vices-ridden, (kind of?) playboy. But he’s kind of also morally gray, not afraid to delve into gritty business or get his hands dirty as long as innocents aren’t involved. Has no problem leaning into his reputation, too. He can be cold and ruthless when the time calls for it.

On a final note, he’s 34 with two ex-wives and three children, which he all abandoned :skull: . His emotions towards his kids are verryyyy complex.

WHO WHY :exploding_head:

Shou Tucker with a hint of Bondrewd

IDK WHAT FAMOUS HERO ATP I MIGHT JUST BASE IT OFF OF MY FRIEND (look at the clan day i drew in ao artober, the guy with the gold mask is my friend) but in lore im tryna think he did it out of survival

fucking hate bondrewd like fuck that guy

Aspire to be as good at remembering names as Bondrewd
Everything else can be left behind

Jonathan Moses.

Lives in a different cluster, the Southern Seas.

A gentle, meek but sturdy boy who lived a closeted life being born in a cultist clan, exposed to violence on at a young age, on a remote island known as Jidian Isles.

His only friend there was his big sister who often kept him company, until she suddenly disappeared, unbeknownst even by the cult.

He was ostracized for being weak among the clan, overtime he gained slight respect by the higher ups, when he turned 18 he was sent on a mission as a navigator for a mission to find “potentials”

He planned to escape from the grasps of the cult, and so he did, when the crew he was with stationed on a nearby island, he promptly destroyed them one by one with his earth magic.

Now he seeks to earn a living for himself as well as to reunite his sister, to his dismay, the southern sea was home to creeps and psychopaths.

(I have like 3 other OCs, a girl during the golden age of magic, a mercenary set on Online Fighting, and a boy also set on The Southern Seas, Jonathan Moses is probably my most developed despite the fact he’s just a side character compared to everyone else)

I’m loving all your OCs so far! Had I not run out of love yesterday, I would’ve hearted everyone here :c

I’m still kind of figuring her out but “Luna Astra” is a merchant from distant seas, or so she says. Despite her claims of being in the War Seas for business, she hasn’t been seen doing much of that by anyone – mainly exploring the place and treasure hunting, no one really knows what she even sells. Everytime someone presses her about her backstory, she gives a completely different answer (she basically lies for fun and profit lmao). She’s an overall enigma but folks don’t really mind because she’s pleasant – peppy, even – enough guy who pays her bills and stays out of trouble. I like to think of her personality as somewhere between Gojo’s, Reigen Arataka’s, and Sampo Koski’s lmao

Truthfully, she’s actually the last of Selene’s attendants/emmisaries and she’s basically been left with the task of keeping an eye out in the War Seas for anything relevant to her patron (she might even be one of the 50 Menae idk) But even those who know about her true identity don’t know her true goal; some think she wants to bring Selene back, some think she just wants the Lunar Curse, some also just think she’s lying – which she might be. She kind of embodies the lunacy and trickery part of the Moon like what’s real and what’s not?

She’s a slippery character but there have been sightings of her in the Nimbus Sea recently, whether she’s keeping an eye on Jarson or just plain old exploring no one’s really sure (which is just a fancy way of keeping this open-ended until we get more about Jarson and the main story and until I actually figure what to do with her :skull:)

OH and as for her involvement in the main story, she is somewhat entangled with the Order but she’s mostly out of the way, background character style

(only if you don’t mind)

I just have two: Kaden Ketch and Amber Cinders

They’re fairly standard MC stand-in characters, though they both exist in the same timeline and kinda “share” the role of MC.

Neither Kaden nor Amber lost their memory, though neither wants to recount the events of their captivity by the Order of Asier. Kaden’s the one who thought up the escape plan. Amber altered it in secret with Tucker, as Kaden refused to allow anyone else to take risks. Amber’s alteration is ultimately what got Tucker killed, but without it, they likely wouldn’t have escaped.

Kaden and Amber both disagree too much to work together much. Amber just wants to live, whereas Kaden believes strongly in a greater purpose. He’s the one who gets in trouble a lot more, but he also is better at making quick relationships and acquiring allies. This difference caused conflict after fighting Elius, as Amber wanted to finish him off, but Kaden wouldn’t let her (let’s be real here; Amber was right).

Kaden’s pretty arrogant under the surface; he intentionally took Argos on, rather than just trying to spy on him. He’s good at getting out of tricky situations, but bad at staying out of them. Amber’s a lot more levelheaded, and avoids conflict where she can. She has a mostly neutral reputation, sparring a few instances of helping innocent people. Kaden, on the other hand, has a considerable bounty by the Assassin Syndicate, as he dismantles them wherever he goes.

Will need to think of more for these two, as right now they’re just “MC, but there’s two of them”.
