People complain about its length now imagine when it’s got like 1.5k episodes itll be harder to get people to start

tbh dunno why they can’t just watch a recap
it’s easier
there are several of them online
saves you time cause they’re at most like 3 hours you can listen to in the background as you do something

the episode actually exceeded my expectations ten fold. I knew beforehand that warner brothers were going to animate gear 5 but they went above and beyond what they usually do.

10/10 from my perspective, love the awakening and the toony part

I was going to type a rather lengthy reply to this but I don’t want to sound like one of those people. I’ll just say that One Piece has many amazing moments, but the journey in whole is good too and it’s all something you won’t really get the full effect, knowledge and emotion for in just a recap.

Overall thoughts: Gear 5 is awesome, very innovative and mold breaking as it doesn’t give in to the basic standards of what a Shonen Powerup should be. It will be iconic in anime circles but it will nowhere near be as iconic or culture defining as Super Saiyan was, much to the chagrin of One Piece fans.

I haven’t watched it, but the first time I saw gear 5 on yt, I got pretty annoyed at Luffy’s constant laughing.

Orochi part is a major downer, I just skipped it.
As for Gear 5, it was good, animation was great. However, I think they overused the “looney tunes” sound effects. It was borderline an assault on my ears but maybe I just need to get used to it.
Now for my primary complaint… The flashbacks, not necessarily everywhere but that one flashback in the middle of Gear 5 and Kaido chatting just murdered the pacing. It’s 1st degree levels of bad.

Orochi part and the constant narrating killed the episode.
Gear 5 was fun watching though.

I pray one piece is better next episode.
