This usually happens to me out of the blue, usually when a positive rep person proceeds to jump me while travelling through Ravenna.
sigh…average Pvphead behavior.
Knowing my luck when it comes to meeting Forumers in-game…(i legit haven’t stumbled upon a forumer in-game randomly.), then i probably won’t meet any known Pvpheads, i don’t want another mad dog chasing me around, who is usually jumping me to get an ego boost.
Probably killing 2 ganker fodders who kept killing a level 70 sailor lodge guy. (they all had 3k player kills btw and ran magma ileg who was helpless in the sea and a shadow mage who kept spamming placed explosions)
Not me, but I was levelling a new save file yesterday and a clan member with a lot of pk’s joined the server and just started helping me. I almost thought that he would instantly gank me since I was level 100 at Ravenna in the story (I was also using this file to farm blasteds so I’m a bit overlevelled), but he ordered me to farm Dame Casenia with him until I got to max level (which i did).
He also slid me 1000 galleons because he was “at max” somehow, and all three fighting style technique scrolls free of charge (I was making a berserker file).
Probably one of the greatest acts of charity I’ve seen in AO, especially since he seemed like a devout clan pvper.
Of course, my good luck ended fast since while I was setting up my file with awakening and dodge reflex n stuff, I saw:
Random dude gets ganked right infront of me, then the dude starts running at ME (he was probably a Ravenna spawncamper since he was running meta build + drawback). He sadly got me, but it’s not that big of a deal.
After I rejoin I see a dude at 100 hp desperately running away from a clan dude at max chasing him (it was very funny but maybe a bit sad)
Right after I get dodge reflex, a random dude at whitesummit seemingly throws a few shots at me and gets me to 200 hp. I mock him for picking on a low hanging fruit, and he seemingly stops because of that.
Right when I’m about to leave, I see two random people with pvper-looking stats try to lure me by attacking my ship. I just leave instead of falling for the bait
And about the actual question: To get random people to duel, I promise (and actually give them) more money after the fight then what they drop if they theoretically lose. Does that count as charity, or is it like advertising blood donations to broke people? It’s a pretty reliable way to get duels regardless.
I get that sounds bad, but they were spawncamping level 80’s at sailors, they deserved to have their ship be annilated by the most horrifically built ship in the bronze sea before getting destroyed by a swarm of level 80’s and a level 125.
Other times I’ll just casually rebuild other peoples ships if I see they’re damaged, generally I’ll be incredibly agressive in doing so.
Its not sorry if it came off like that, just kinda meant to be a joke. I’m not gonna make fun of anyone whos nice enough to give out sunken swords for help with the story.
