Today is Earth Day, a time of the year where we all celebrate the Earth and just be thankful for this floating planet in space. The Earth has done so much for us, so I find it important that we as a human species reciprocate that to our beloved planet. That’s why I’ve decided to share a few things that I did this Earth Day, and I hope you do too as well, if any. We all need to do our part!
Today I…
Planted Trees! Tress give us the oxygen that we need in order to survive. We must take care of our trees in order to protect not only ourselves, but the environment around us.
I also rode my bike today. Cars can cause a lot of CO2 to go into our atmosphere, so it’s better that we find solutions in order to help combat the problem on a person level. Yeah, the companies of the world have pumped up more CO2 than we can even imagine, in fact gigatonnes of it, but we still need to do our parts as individuals
I also managed to pick up some trash. We humans throw away so much trash in the ground that it is harming the soil that we walk on with our own two feet! Trash gets littered around everywhere daily, and it’s becoming a real eye sore and sore for the ecosystems around us. Do it for the turtles!!!
Today I also sat in a corner and cried! Water has a lot of benefits for the Earth, we even drink it on a daily basis! I mean, some of the alcoholics that I know personally have water in their drinks, so they are technically using water too! We all use water, so we must reciprocate that back to our planet!!!
I also managed to get some exercise! Making sure to exercise every day is important for the body and mind. Take a jog, walk a dog, don’t be afraid to walk near a life-ending cliff or two!
After a long, hard day of helping our Earth, you’re going to need a lot of rest afterwards, and I mean a lot of sleep. Sleeping helps soothe your mind and can help rejuvenate yourself after losing so much energy. Before you do go to sleep, just make sure to rethink your decisions on not just today, but your whole entire past. What have you done for the Earth and what do you plan to change? After some thinking, just take a nice long, never-ending rest and be ready for the potential next days ahead
Earth Day is cool and all, but this planet is guaranteed to be destroyed by us. It’s too late. We are a deadly plague that has infected our own planet, and poor Earth will likely succumb to us in a few hundred years. Thankfully, we won’t be alive to see global warming at it’s worst!
At this point, trying to do any “earth friendly” activities like riding a bike instead of a car is the equivalent of stabbing a steel wall with a child’s toy knife with the intension of slicing the steel in half
I mean tbh I feel like the environmental damage that we caused was kinda unavoidable in a certain way, a lot of crucial steps for advancement have left a pretty big carbon footprint on the planet.
Though I’m still optimistic about the way our society handles certain things change for the better, we’re already starting to do it now anyways with carbon traps and whatnot.
I believe Germany just recently shut down all of their nuclear plants in their country, so change is definitely occurring. We all know how to point out the problem of CO2 in our atmosphere, but figuring out the solution is a much more difficult task. The honest truth is that we as individuals aren’t the problem that is causing this mess, but the giant companies who have the massive ability to pump out that huge amount of harmful chemicals into our air, as well as the powerful countries that allow such events to occur. As doge said, it’s like stabbing a steel wall with a children’s toy when it comes to the individual level. I don’t want to sound too political here, but if we want our future civilization to survive, we should enact change now, and fast as well.
We may be pushing for more companies to go more eco-friendly, but the main problem right now is the people who are in charge of society. Also, it’s not just the US, but other countries that have contributed a lot to the problem too. Countries like India, China, and Russia have a lot of carbon emissions, but their governments aren’t as strict about carbon emission goals as the US is in my opinion
We could, but there can’t be any hope without action. I wish as well that more people around the world take this issue more seriously and that we can go down a more eco-friendly path. I’m not losing my optimism just yet
