Remember how Minds work as explained in AA? There are three minds, and after opening one, you are able to use a magic open for each “mind”. When opening a mind, it feels like you suddenly gained clarity of something, because your mind is literally opened.

I think thats what Enizor is describing. His first mind suddenly opened, allowing him to use his magic, the moment being describe as like having an “epiphany”

He awakened his magic AFTER the prison break, the quest supposedly happens like waay later. (And unless you’re grinding in Ravenna to fight Calvus at level 125, it does happen way later in the playthrough as well).
