What would be a theoretically good magic combo?

the only combos i have in mind are :

  • freeze duo + gold/iron
  • freeze duo + lightning paralyze
  • paper scribe
  • petrification combo (explosion+magma)
  • bleed magic, like glass + ice

any other ideas? even add a 3rd magic to make some of these magic combos a solid trio?

It seems we both are having trouble thinking of a long term magic or something.

I know this isn’t probably the best and it would require a ton of future content but I know a lot of wind users that dream of an extreme knockback build one day. A build that includes wind, gravity, and pressure magic. Two of those magics aren’t even close to out yet.

Personally since I’ve been struggling I’ve just been considering snow. After reading so many stats and thinking up so many combos, I’ve ultimately gone nowhere. I’m in a state where I’m considering doing a magic just for the theme. At least with snow I can name all of my blast attacks “Snow Ball!” and run around like Flint Lockwood.

With petrification you could idea try explosion and ash for more petrification. Magma would be better for damage tho.

In the past I’ve considered the paper combo with light for a blinding effect. In the future there are plenty of magic spam DoT lost spell types so that could turn into a Meta.

Some of these look pretty promising when paired with light, especially with the DoT. I probably skipped some idk. Hope this kinda helped.

Thanks! I will warn though, I forgot to mention this, with the next Power nerf light is going to be VERY low damage. This may kinda balance it in the future but who knows? The power nerf really might shake up the meta.

(And quest5, at one point I really wanted to go the entire wind knockback build. Still think it’s cool, it’s just the wait is gonna be a while. Anyone who does wind probably dreams of flinging people like Darth Vader at some point lol. Why else (besides poison immunity) would anyone do it?

Hehe it sounded pretty cool for me. Also, the knockback supposedly increase with magic size as well so you won’t need to enchant specially for knockback/forceful.

I just noticed your other topic on glass - bleed synergies. I’m not very advanced with bleed magics and the furthest I’ve gotten with a bleed magic is paper. It’s kinda messy ngl but that’s personal opinion.

Yes, we are both in a state of existential crisis lol. Future glass is going to have a ton of AoE DoT due to shrapnel / shards on the ground. Would be good for securing areas. Double mentioned Ash/Poison for more AoE DoT but I’m pretty sure they clash (ash destroys poison?). You could do that intentionally to clear / reclaim poison cloud damage incase of someone hitting it with fire but idk. Plus bleed would probably be best.

What I found with me as a wind user was yes, I really like wind, but sometimes it just feels the same. Wind has definitely grown in popularity and my original use for it is gone. (I originally wanted to make a TOTAL effect-removing recharge / Tank / Healer build that removes all removable debuffs, but according to the community only first magic recharge counts.) Since then I’ve just been trying to figure out what magic combos are the best. Leaning towards magic themes though now since I can’t decide.

yeah i was playing glass because i wanted to play funny bleed strategies but now i cant think of what would be a great trio for glass

im thinking of starting a 3rd brand new file for the ice, ice could be fun for bleed synergies but it can also do a fun freeze combo

my step by step plan once triple magics come out is :

  1. bleed the enemy with a weapon
  2. get the ice damage boost
  3. get the water damage boost and freeze the enemy
  4. hit a gold attack (applying bleed if it does a boat load of damage so repeat step 2)

That sounds like a good plan.

I’m kinda scared a lot of people will do it aswell at some point. Freeze combos will probably become some sort of meta.

freeze combos are definitely going to be very meta because 90% boost of damage from the highest impact hitting magic is going to be very insane, might be too meta, maybe getting a nerf? i hope it gets nerfed when multi-magics arrive

either im going to try preparing an ice combo soon, or im going to stick with my bleed/melt/burn combo from maybe glass+acid+fire

Scribed is literally a better freeze

Can’t you escape freeze with heat based charging? I know the ONLY way to escape scribed is fire a spell, but at the same time it lacks the damage combo.

T jumping escapes scribed, not many people know this lol, make sure to spread the word
i remember being scribed by magic council, i pressed T and i escaped immediately
also scribed has no damage boosts unlike freeze or petrified

If you fire immediately with paper, you can hit a 2 blast with paper at them and you won’t need the damage boost. (T jump has a noticeable like .5 second charge unlike magic jump) It’s still a lot quicker to charge out of frozen/petrified and block or use magic high jump in them.
