True, that seems more fitting for someone like Wotan… possibly a “war bringer” title of sorts then?
thank you
if the story goes in a different route than expected, we could bring more harm than good. Warmonger is also just generally “intimidating,” and since the Order is obviously corrupt and surely has connections to the Navy, they might give us an intimidating title despite our good status.
(example, One Piece, Law has the title “Surgeon of Death” despite not being so murderous, though that might not be the best title. labelling the MC as Warmonger could, in their eyes, deter people from helping us out and give us a bad name by giving us an intimidating title)
this could definitely work seeing as we’ve (somewhat) indirectly caused a war and are sure to birth others (Samerian-Keraxe war by killing Calvus, possibly bringing Skyhall into it, and will probably bring other countries into war by killing high-status Order members.)
Oooh, that’s a pretty good idea, the player’s intimating title being spread by the Order as a way to try and distance them any help they can get. Though, maybe it could also backfire on them? I am just saying the first thing that comes to my mind, but perhaps Wotan might be interested in the player’s potential if he hears they’re getting the title of a warmonger?
Although Warbringer is a bit extreme, the MC hasn’t been avoiding fights either
honestly reaching a peaceful resolve with Wotan would be kinda cliche, but also completely unexpected, so i honestly wouldn’t complain too much. AS LONG as it’s well written and not some “oh my, [player name,] your strength surpasses even the Gods! wanna be best friends??”
i could totally see a plot where he becomes a sort of anti-hero where we beat him half to death, and in his weakness, one of his sons is also killed by the Order, leading to him hating them, joining with us and Sameria in an “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” type situation, and then helping us.
though if Wotan is really this bloodthirsty guy i doubt that’s happening. he’s kinda been set up that way i feel.
that’s different if they’re both enemies
well i was thinking of a sort of “on the whim truce” situation, where both Nilah and Wotan are against the Order, so even if the truce doesn’t stand it’ll just be a temporary situation.
something like this. Kid, a ruthless murderer. Law, an unsuspecting-yet-dangerous surgeon. Luffy, an idiot.
Wotan, Nilah, and us. unlikely allies but we all hate the Order
also if this ever happens, PLEASE Vetex, make a cutscene where we hit these respective poses
(Nilah; Law, Wotan; Kid, Luffy; Us, )
okay, now STOP WITH THE ONE PIECE REFERENCES
respectfully
can’t. post-timeskip and it’s infected my brain. it’s the only show i’ve watched in months. help me.
(other than the awful pacing this show is great i don’t need help)
If I were to watch One-Piece (I’ve been meaning to get to it) is there anything major I should skip for time? I’ll try to remember.
By the time books are made about the lore I imagine a name will be needed for the MC
My guess is Geno Arcturus (it sounds cool and it was vetex’s in game name)
I kinda doubt we’ll ever fight Wotan since he’s a curse user and power scaling issues, but I do think that him joining us against the Order could be something that he might canonically want to do, if given reason. An example on the top of my head could be to do with avenging one/several of his sons, so he wouldn’t be helping us because he’s suddenly nice and respectful of our strength, he’d only help us because we’re the most knowledgeable people on the Order (that he knows)
It’s getting late so I won’t responding for a few hours now. Thanks everyone for the discussion and I’ll check in tomorrow. Have a lovely day/night everyone and keep improving! :3
other than filler and recaps, no. people will say you should skip arcs because of their slow pacing but you WILL miss out on important bits of lore. also, be warned that it’s REALLYYYY slow, especially towards the start. if you watch it, prepare to sometimes roll your eyes cause nothing was accomplished in the episode.
you can skip filler and movies (which are non-canon as well) though and not worry about missing out on anything (other than the filler arc right after Skypiea, G-8. it’s still non-canon but the arc is fun, fast-paced, and also acts as a transition between arcs)
it’s a really good show but sometimes it’ll make you sit back and wonder if it’s going anywhere.
the three slowest arcs, allegedly (i’ve only seen one of these a the moment) are Skypiea, Dressrosa, and Fishman Island, but everything else works out pretty decently
that works. it’s not a bad name either, so yeah i’ll headcanon that lmao
Wotan surely won’t be a story boss, but I’m fairly certain he’s not a fan of us.
Unless he’s added as a sort of “teamwork” boss, where someone else fights him, Morden just for example, while you do things to help, like taking down minions, doing objectives, etc.
Okay this is gonna be my last post for now, see you all soon :3
Honestly I wouldn’t even call Warbringer extreme, we’ve been to two kingdoms at this point and what have we done? Collapsed the leadership structure of one (took out a highly regarded general, two nobles, and their KING) and thus brought war to the other against one of the most vicious factions in the War Seas. Not to mention we’re going to Skyhall now to try and bring them into Sameria and Keraxe’s war now
Plus Warbringer is a nice contrast to Peacekeeper, which especially works since this riddle tech posted is supposed to be about the Peacekeeper’s ideology/story/whatever (left) vs. the AO MC’s (right)
watch us be a secret member of the Order or something
it wouldn’t make much sense given our current stance but idk it’s always possible i guess
i’m assuming the “dark and impenetrable as night” bit is relating to AO’s MC, so it could also be referring to us swiftly taking down the Order or something idk i’m lazily theorycrafting take all that i say as bogus
hey what’s that text on the bottom left say?
looks like a korean or chinese signature
yeah i reverse image searched it and it’s korean for Mako, but that’s Goofy Translate so it could be wrong
yeah it’s the signature for @/liu, the artist who did the art (she’s linked in the original post of the riddle)
honestly pretty accurate lol, back in the day I think her username was macobre so that might be where it comes from?
