Since I have literally no writing experience and I have no idea were to start I made this post. If anyone with experience in writing has any tips that would be very helpfull to write a story I have in mind.
Ummm
Use big words?
Paragraph your stuff?
Explain and expand your ideas?
Correct grammar and spelling?
Just the basics
Watch terrible writing advice I can’t guarantee it would teach you something but I can guarantee it is somewhat funny
overly sarcastic productions trope talk might help out and if not still nice to watch
make good
Nice, love their videos.
You gotta be more specific about your situation. Are you trying to write a story?
Yeah a story
A short story?
start the title with a “what”
dunno works for me
To be specific a story at least as like long as hunter x hunter
but all in prose like a chapter book?
More like a comic series I just need to work on my writing and art before I even consider making it
All I can really say is know your universe. Be sure to know what are the laws of that universe, as in what can and cant happen. Know how characters interact in this world, how does it affect their decisions. Just imagine things and think “Would this character do this?” That’s my main piece of advice I have, I am definitely not a professional but I’ve written a few short stories and just imagining the world I’m writing in has helped me.
Just started watching terrible writing advice his videos seem informal enough I’ll definitely sub.
For me is to write a character that feels like a real person, you can use stereotype but don’t make that stereotype define them as a character
but even if you do use a stereotype it can be appreciated in an ironic way e.g. one punch man
Plot, characters, settings/background
I am not a good writer, but I do have some tips:
Also, there are 2 types of writers. The planners and the discoverers. The planners are the people that plan every aspect of their story before they start writing it. Discoverers get an idea and start writing without knowing how their story will end. I am a discoverer, so if you are a planner, some of my tips might not apply.
-
When writing your first draft, ignore grammar, word choice, etc. The purpose of the first draft is just to barf all of your ideas onto a page/doc. Once you have created a draft that you like, you can fix all of the grammar and word choice and introduce subplots in the second draft.
-
When writing, make sure you create a “scope.” In other words, try to figure out about how long you want your story to be before you start writing. If you just start writing without an idea of how long it will be, you will end up writing hundreds of pages and still be at the very beginning of your plot. Or, sometimes, you will end up finishing the book in 20 pages.
To add to part 2, don’t make your scope too wide. Try to go for a few thousand words at most. You don’t want to have a great idea, then get bored because it took too long to finish.
- Write for fun. Don’t pressure yourself to write the next Harry Potter for your first book. Your first story is going to be bad. You are going to come up with ideas that don’t work. Whenever you get an idea, just see where it takes you.
