Its not just that its old, its also contradicted in the current game. People can tank gunshots in the current game, ones aided by magic too.
get the sneak attack bonus
(im getting turned to ash by a mildly powerful attack, or thrown into the sea by argos)
Calvus is not surviving a shot from a .950 JDJ rifle
This ain’t deepwoken, we don’t have those unless you use a projectile because they have 360 vision.
Gameplay doesnt equal lore accuracy, especially if its combat.
I mean, imagine getting shot by a gun and you would be hit by instant death or severe bleeding. That wouldnt be intuitive for a video game, wouldnt it?
game ≠ lore
I’ve just assumed guns in AO and AA are ass, old models
Or we have some kind of resistance due to magic energy
some of the top tier characters can wipe out islands in an attack
i refuse to believe the peacekeeper, who killed an undead god and an edgy necromancer at the same time, then survived a world altering blast, would die to a mere gunshot
basically it’s counterintuitive even in the lore
if you can form a barrier with magic, it’s probably reasonable that you have some form of subconscious reinforcement around your body
high tier mages also dont just wear robes, they have armour although PRIMARILY magic focused would be some help
theos, calvus (not a high tier but he wears armour)
magic resistance. idk about the impact damage though
I want you guys to think for a second, every boss we’ve fought so far would be in lore entirely trivialized if guns just one shot people. It would genuinely be a massive plot hole and I don’t think everybody is just canonically dodging every bullet because 1. why would people even use them at that point and 2. I don’t think we’re canonically faster than a bullet yet.
To clarify like I think someone could dodge if they saw someone was about to shoot them but if the bullets already coming youre kinda fucked
magic resistance to allow them to shrug off a bullet
Yeah, you’re right. Vetex’s comment was just an example of how PK cant really turn into an “element” with the Absorption Curse, and can easily succumb to fatal wounds. However, I would presume that mages are more “resistant” or have developed certain spells to counter gunshots. It explains why theyre more favored in the War Seas
His comment sort of proves that guns in the AU may work the same or similar to how guns work irl (considering AU takes after a lot of our reality just with magic and mythology, makes sense)
flintlock guns, had very few changes over the centuries of existence they had so its hard a flintlock to be an old model, without just being old. the flintlocks we have ingame are probably similar to napleonic muskets, so their at least of decent quality, assembly is unknown but probably not shoddy.
they wear armor
Do you have a gun? Cause if you do fair game she’s only got 400 hp so can probably only tank like one shot at best, but if you dont own one irl then you dont got one here
okay we should define some rules here
we can just arbitrarily say we have nukes and tanks and say we beat ppl like argos and that’s no fun
I will obtain one before the fight
Yeah I added a new one, basically you gotta own it irl
