Apparently a lot of people are hyped for a Jojo game called “A Universal Time”, but I don’t understand the hype.
It…looks like the exact same thing as any other Jojo game, honestly. The random non-Jojo stuff doesn’t help either. Remember that part when Jotaro used the Omnitrix to defeat DIO?
I more or less think of it as fan service but just in a game with good quality. Personally I’m not to hyped for it even as a fan of JoJo’s. It seems very much like a simple class-based game, like how a stand/specialty (or spec for short) will play the exact same way no matter who’s using it. Never been a fan of that kind of system and is why I avoid games with a lack of customization or diversity.
Now what makes it stand out from other JoJo games, I think, is just how good it looks and maybe some other stuff too (like how to obtain arrows/corpse parts). The game does look good, the animations are clean, so that’d be my best guess as to why people are ready for it.
Another theory is that people are sick of the issues of YBA (Your Bizarre Adventure/the most popular JoJo game rn). Bugs, unbalancing, grinding being an absolute chore. AUT (A Universal Time) might not share those issues and people are just hoping they don’t share them. It’ll likely be a well made game, on par with YBA, and offer more variety to JoJo games as YBA is just your best bet.
just my theories as to why people are hyped for the game; looks good and is “new”. imo not looking forward to it just because of how it’ll likely play.
Even though I’m not a fan of the genre anymore I’d say AUT is the closest thing to Project Jojo out there right now, after PJJ got effectively abandoned. Fans of the genre were looking for a new game to take its place, and AUT was pretty much what they decided on.
I only focused on the customizations because that was PJJ best selling point
Though its pretty unfair to compare those anyways, both are super different
