When do fleets start getting worth it?

Have had a fleet for the past two days. Lost about 30k drachma, with two active ships (one caravel, one sailboat, a grand total of 47 followers- 40 active, 7 inactive)

To go from 60% Supplies/Food to 100% it took about 5,282 galleons. I have yet to see a return on my investment.

Should I stick it through and just focus on making money other ways when I play AO? Or just drop fleets entirely? I just want to know if it’ll pay off in the end.

At least according to divaonchi, you should probably hold off until you have a decent sum of followers (I think it was in the 100s?)

Hold off, as in minimize risk and rest the entire time?

Don’t spend your money on food and supplies. If I am not mistaken either recover or patrol/plunder task fills it in the process. Everything you have to do is go from point A to point B and switch tasks whenever your fleet’s strength falls or grows.

Oh, how convienent. Thanks.

Have one (or two, if you’re able to actively attend to your fleets) of your command ships set to patrol/plunder, and the rest set to recover. Patrol/plunder is the task that gains you followers as well as drachma, and having more followers will make leveling tasks easier

Does it matter whether I use a brig, a sailboat, or a ketch in my fleet?

Only the durability matters, since higher durability means it can go longer without being sunk

just kept investing through it, two command ships at recovery, two command ships doing what task you want, fixing critical health ships on minimum risk then when strength is at 55% i just put one more ship at recover then repeat and i got these results eventually

just found out, putting 3 on your task works faster though youve got to be more alert of your strength, food, and supplies not going below 50% to avoid desertions

how many ships do you have in your fleet? slight the stats :folded_hands:
