I honestly wouldnāt be surprised if this is the actual inspiration for Neroās character.
Insane man with large army decides to wipe out entire civilization for no discernable reason.
ānero is inspired by adolf hitlerā
???
Fair enough I never claimed to know roman history.
I just see genocidal maniac and my mind goes to exactly one location.
At the same time, though, it never said he was known for attempting to commit genocide, he was just a horrible tyrant and we have⦠way too many of those in the books.
I always just saw King Nero as himself, the guy who did that thing in the story that resulted in other things.
I think Nero was too insane to be reasoned with, and too powerful to leave alone. He was an existential threat different to something like the Keraxe who also commit atrocities but at least fall in line with diplomacy via peace deals and such. Nero was an insane monster with the power to sink entire islands, its no wonder he was jumped
Although to be fair, even if they wanted to stop the Keraxe I dont think they could, their fleet power is probably quite similar and they donāt have anyone who can beat Wotan. Probably why they allow them to slaughter whole towns
i just thought of a theory thats something along the lines ofā¦
ābecause of king neroās immense power, him and his curse is being influenced by chaos in some way due to apocalypse bringer being a mere immitation of what chaos can doā
i believe high tier curse users can inflict insanity onto people, but dont quote me on this.
If any curse is going to make you insane, its probably the one thatās themed off of the source of insanity.
yeah like the guy who essentially kickstarts the entire ravenna plotline, hes kind of barebones aside from being this great founder character in ravennaās mythos
Pretty sure during the Winterveil Extermination event Navy wasnāt that corrupt - and also, iām pretty sure any normal anti-piracy organisation would totally beat up Nero in that moment for what he did - dueling Kessler? Thatās alright! Killing innocent folks with a curse and then building a fortress on the leftovers of the destroyed land? Thatās not quite alright. Grand Navy isnāt Ravenna nor Sameria or other kingdoms - solving such problems is itās job basically, because not a single other kingdom would even care about that
