When is inventory loading gonna get optimized

it is getting slightly annoying that I have a 25% chance of freezing for 30 seconds - 3 minutes everytime I press tab or open the trade menu…

No, I cannot be arsed to go sell stuff to make my inventory less laggy apparently I have over 100k unique items anyway so I’d have to sell a lot of shit, pls just optimize inv loading zad

(or were they already optimized but it just doesnt work well )

I have nearly 150k items (over 30k unique items). It only freezes for about half a second when I open my inventory for the first time in a server.

If your inventory is freezing to the point where you can’t even play for several minutes, I’m thinking it’s not the game’s fault anymore. Your PC just can’t handle it.

Vetex is already pretty good at optimizing things. He’s already optimized the inventory several times. But there are just some things that Roblox can’t do well, and performance is one of those things.

pls give me money to buy new pc

My game lags for a second when I open my inventory, but the game game freezes up for several minutes when I do it in the Dark Sea. Moral of the story, don’t open your inventory in the Dark Sea, or your boat will teleport out from underneath you and you’ll drown

Hence why I said 25% chance, a lot of the time it wont freeze but its still quite often to where one of these days im gonna end up dying in a crucial moment cuz i accidentally pressed tab :sob:

16gb ram, I can run the steam pc version of god of war 4 on the highest settings and get 50-60 fps, and other high req games like rdr2 and get a consistent 70+ fps on high settings, I’m quite sure my laptop isn’t the issue here

Prolly but thats a shame

whenever I open the game it loads instantly but when I try and open it an hour or so into playing it, it just freezes and slowly loads at times

So basically sort out your stuff at the start :sob:

yea I kinda noticed the performance degrades considerably ping and fps wise when you stay in a server for a long time, it kinda sucks when I want to switch my weapons out before a fight/during a fight or something, it is what it is

that just makes your pc sound like a high end pc
(that is not normal) :sob:

Funny thing is that it refreshes when you join another server or the same one and you can once more instantly open inventory

It’s especially annoying when you want to trade and neither your stuff nor theirs shows up

My problem with inventory isn’t the freezing, its just that it seems to only load like 10 unique items per second… when my inventory has thousands and thousands of unique items.

I’ve waited for 10 minutes for my inventory to finish loading.

Sometimes it takes 5 seconds sometimes it takes 10 minutes.
why can this not be consistent?

i think a compact version of the inventory would be an interesting idea - listing items by name in a long-label kind of style

this version wouldn’t show the viewportframes (item model), as I suspect those to be the cause of lag (if you have enough on the screen at once some just don’t display)

That moment when people just want to check my inventory and suddenly they are afflicted with a curse that paralyses them for a minute

man, selling over 1k items was tough, i don’t even want to think about selling nearly 100k

I would say that it is yours PC’s problem, not the game’s problem. Why? Because during WoM times it is actually was long, if you were going to trade with some monopolist you could get freezed for like minute, but during development of AO, Vetex noted one thing in the to do list: Give himself 200k+ items and optimize inventory loading, after release I noticed that loading inventory became actually faster.

i have loading issues with the inventory too, my solution was to just sell almost all of my items LOL

I disagree. This was only an issue after the dark sea update and lots of people have experienced it.

This is the exact issue I’ve been having. It takes forever to load the inventory which prevents me from using enchant scrolls/gems, changing ship parts, trading, or switching out gear until it randomly decides to load.
Honestly I sometimes prefer the alternative where it freezes for a minute then loads because then I can actually use my inventory.

can i also have money for new pc? ;-;

I prefer my game freezing for several seconds every time it happens that way.

Never because its roblox :broken_heart:
