Hello there. Flem here, asking about things other players did that you enjoyed.
And no, i am not talking about “Oh i enjoyed that they sat there bc that enabled me to smack em”. No, i mean stuff that is kind.
I’ll start!
Had a very pleasant experience while gettin absolutely railed into the ground by Calvus (because i am not particularly good at fighting, kekw).
Was struggling, the other lad (lvl 140 or so) jumped in and assisted me with fighting- we kept dieing but since only one at a time died, we eventually murdered the man. Was nice.
well there are a lot and I don’t remember them all nor do I want to recount them all, but recently after fighting a gamer battle with Gamehero (stop SELF-LOATHING nerd) I met another plasma/poison mage and as a bonding activity we set Mount Enkav on fire.
I would encounter a good amount of players while I was fishing. Sometimes they’d join me and strike up a conversation, sometimes they’d think I was an NPC and throw an attack out before realizing I wasn’t and apologize.
I like seeing other people’s characters, seeing them show off. One might have a max size build that can make huge lightning bolts or ice cubes, another max destruction to level whatever town they happen to be in, max knockback on wind to send people to the Nimbus Lands early, max agility for really fast movement and jumps. They might also have a pretty cool look (though I have never seen anyone use Headless in a way that convinces me they wear it for anything other than a flex).
I also enjoy goofing off. I’ll throw mystery potions at people. I will find someone with a damaged ship, and then threaten to rob them or else I will hit their ship with a hammer. Maybe if I see a really damaged sailboat or something I will skip the robbery and go straight to hitting their ship with a hammer. And being able to hold fish in your hand is a really nice feature.
i fucking hate meeting people that aren’t my friends while i’m fishing because they either bother me, try attacking me or ask for items or where’s the whitesummit yuletide guy at and that’s hella annoying
the only time I enjoyed an encounter was when some dude gave me a golden sky pumpkin I asked for
sometimes, i have youtube on the side and AO in another window while sailing. this often leads to me unintentionally crashing into noob ships, i always stop and help them repair if this happens cuz i feel bad. so maybe for them it was an encounter they enjoyed
I had a friend who I met in the last days of WoM, we would find threatened towns and break stuff because that was the only time heroes were allowed to break stuff. When AO came out, he helped me fight Elius for the first time. We last saw each other about a month or two after AO released, he doesn’t play Roblox much anymore.
I helped someone get all the Makrinaos secrets once, we had a nice chat about lore
I once asked a random max level to help me out with Argos the first time because I didn’t know how to use the dodge button (WoM player lol) and kept dying to his targeted skills. They had to sail halfway across the map, so I gave them a sunken sword for their troubles. Was that overkill? Yes. Do I care? No.
There’s a lot more I’m probably forgetting, I’ll add them if I remember them
I was playing on my light paladin file and came across someone who was doing a potion only challenge while I was preparing for the Elius fight. They were really nice and we chatted about their challenge and other things and I ended up giving them reagents and catalysts before we departed just to meet each other again at Harvest Island and we explored a little bit until they had to go.
Another time was on my plasma conjurer file before the Nimbus Sea Update when I made a friend for life that took me to the Dark Sea. It was my first time there and were successful during the expedition. He never gets mad at me or annoyed from my thalassophobia this game gave me either so I appreciate him lots! Ever since then we play Ao and other games together!!
(Someone did kill me and him bc they got 50 dark sealed chests and disconnected. So they attacked and killed us over and over bc my friend wanted to get a team for the dark sea)

i have to say, sinking ships is fun
also pvp with this one guy that actually asks if you wanna, he’s around my skill level (or he was going easy on me) and best of all: he respects your decision if you decline
one time i was playing ao and got a prometheus acrimony. i find a guy and he asks to trade for the acrimony. i accept. i get a ton of galleons and some pretty good gear and a new friend. another time i was trying (and failing) to fight calvus, so i ask a dude, he accepts, but also asks me to 1v1. i oblige and then we jump calvus. that was fun.
I meant someone while fishing at Wind Row and we had a nice conversation. Now we are online friends.
I also once met someone while doing the sky islands story and we beat Elius together. We are also now online friends.
