I see everyone making new builds to ‘prepare’ for the Nimbus Sea as if it’s gonna tear everyone’s assholes apart if they don’t, and while that might be a good idea, I’ve realized something about myself.
Look, here are some builds that might’ve been good pre-dark sea, or rather, early into it.
Andronico Shield, magma-fire mage
Klaus Booth, Ice Conjurer
Ronan Stillwater, ILeg-Sailorstyle Berserker
Notice how they don’t have any exotic scrolls or modifiers on them.
That is because I DON’T WANT TO FUCKING GET THEM
Why, you may ask? Well, that’s because the Dark Sea is actually treacherous after enough expeditions and curses from Undead Zeus himself, and trading’s just kind of… eugh. Probably sucks.
“So you just don’t wanna put work in?”
Exactly! See, why would I do all of this when, chances are, the build is already going to be outdated by the first boss added in Nimbus, anyway?
“Wouldn’t you be at a disadvantage against the bosses?”
Remember when you thought Calvus was hard because you fought him at level 95 and then had to actually learn attack patterns? It’ll just be that again, except I’ll win faster because I’m BETTER. I’m not here to optimize a perfect bosskiller build, I’m here to painstakingly tear away at them limb by limb until I feel the glory of my victory.
also there’s probably only one or two new bosses anyway, still, watch as their gear makes you look at your sunkens and wonder why you even indoctrinated yourself into thinking that fishing for 10 hours is a good investment
“What about other players?”
Shit, uuh… I dunno, I guess I’ll just get better at the game.
Anyway, who else has this train of thought?
