if this is the case then poison magic should have colossal impact damage.
but, of course, it doesn’t.
so a cloud wouldn’t either.

Just because something is a weak curse doesn’t mean it’s weak in and of itself. A sea curse seems to be powerful enough to be in its own category of combat (considering Julian was able to grievously injure the player with one attack), to an unspecified degree. I see no reason that a curse user would lose a fight against even several powerful mages (such as the mages who were powerless to stop Nero from destroying Winterveil). It doesn’t matter that the cloud curse is weak for a curse, because “for a curse” is the operative phrase here.
Essentially, a curse being weak for a curse does not make it something on the level of a normal person.
idk man I don’t really see a loser who can only control clouds have any sort of advantage over little timmy the level 1000 minmaxed insanity/warding build mage with death magic surge and inferno magic ultimate art: incinerating halcyon.
Who said gameplay was canonical? The events of the story are canon, but the actions you take and the builds you make are not part of that. No matter how minmaxed you are, you lose to Julian. Presumably there will be some story contrivance in the future leading to the defeat of a curse user, because it only makes sense to give some kind of gameplay focus to this important aspect of the lore, but at full power a curse user will win against a non-curse user. Fighting another curse user, the cloud user would lose, but that’s beyond the scope of what players can canonically achieve.
Anyway, to answer the question of this thread, it’s a tossup between Revon and Neviro for me. Either one could do it, especially if Neviro does end up getting in the good graces of the kingdom.
the elius spare/kill option in question:
also I just realized but curse users must fucking suck against warriors lmao
(or conjurers)
because of devourers.
holy shit imagine a snow imbued devourer YUM YUM ![]()
That’s story. I didn’t do a button input to kill him, I chose a branching path in a dialogue tree. But also yeah devourers would go crazy as a weapon
if you got the option at a custom devourer, what would you want?
personally, a devouring katana sounds simple, sleek, and efficient.
or a devouring stave, a sleek and dark metal staff would be super cool to have on my avatar as drip.
(I should probably stop derailing the topic sorry)
uh doesn’t pk kill durza though?
devourers don’t make you win against a curse user they just let you steal the curse when they do die.
also i think generally everyone does overestimate the power of curses just a bit
last part isn’t related to what you said but still
Wasn’t the peacekeeper infused with amounts of magic energy never before seen? It seems pretty likely that would help their chances against curse users.
I wouldn’t say they’re overestimated, in my opinion they live up to it. Vetex has said that if not for Morden, the Julian would’ve easily killed the MC and the others after he broke out of the dungeon and headed to calvus. It’s very rare for a non curse user to be on the level that a curse user is
Poison and Cumulus Clouds are two completely different things though.
Warriors and warlords, we savants actually have magic

Yeah. So far only the peacekeeper and Theos seem to be able to defeat curse users without having one of their own and without using a devourer
they are strong because of their swordsmanship tho
if the cloud curse user carry around weapon and uses cloud mainly as a way to quickly move around/reduce enemy’s vision then yeah, they would be pretty strong, but not because of the cloud curse specifically… okay fine it does help quite a lot ig
bro like give up already this argument is so stupid
“oh they’re obviously not the same despite both clearly being clouds that should follow the same logic”
this is like saying that acid and water aren’t the same type of state of matter because one is corrosive.
also, we don’t even KNOW what poison clouds are made out of, and if anything, it’s probably a toxic vapor.
Case closed, the Cloud curse is powerful on the basis that it’s a curse, which are a step above all other magics. Glass also sounds non-threatening but it one shot our ass.
And yet he continues to live in denial ![]()
just watch as like a warlord or something completely destroys a curse user with comically massive AoE and damage or something
cloud is NOT winning
