Who IS the "Unknown Entity" in the lore document

As of now I only have two canditates for who the Unknown Entity, If I think of another canditate I will list them below.

NUMBER ONE: Hades

The amount of glaze he has been recieving is kinda crazy, Why do I say him though? Well. Read these pieces of texts from the documents "Prometheus had given humans the gift of fire as well during this time, and was punished by Zeus by being chained to a rock for many years, exactly how it had happened in Greek Mythology. However, during Prometheus’ imprisonment, an unknown entity had freed him and given him the power to steal another god’s authority. (This unknown entity, what they are and why they did this will be explained more during the later stages of Arcane Odyssey’s story)

The unknown entity had also weakened Hecate’s foresight (the goddess of magic). During this time, there was strife among the gods due to Hecate limiting the potential of magic through humans, and after Prometheus was freed, he took his opportunity and gift from the unknown entity to defeat and take Hecate’s authority over magic, allowing him to dictate its laws and limitations."

If you didnt catch where it said “allowing him to dictate its laws and limitations” then you need to read a little more, When the peacekeeper defeats Hades its discovered that he had been pupeteering Acheron/Durza to test the limits of Dark Magic. From the last part of text talking about this, “Hades used Acheron to test the limits of pure dark magic.”

Your probably wondering by now, What is Dark Magic? It can only be assumed as Necromancy, Acheron/Durza attained his Dead Revival magic while he had studied magic in his malicious ass tower.

NUMBER TWO: Chaos, Literally just Chaos.

Chaos is actually so fucking evil that it probably did this there is nothing else for me to say.

Hades was against the idea of giving humans magic, so he would have to be a complete dumbass

Chaos isn’t sentient and probably would’ve just subconsciously evaporated Prometheus

Can we please just collectively accept it’s a character that hasn’t been revealed in the story yet

In Greek mythology didn’t Heracles free Prometheus

pretty sure i heard a version where apollo, leto and artemis begged zeus to free prometheus but i dont care enough to see if thats an actual version of the myth so

also doesnt make sense for apollo, his sister or his mom to do it
nor zeus
:shrugs:

hades just outright isnt powerful enough
chaos is too powerful to care
its either a primordial god or arcane aliens

It’s vetex’s mirror world self, Xetev

I love when Xetev says his signature catchphrase, “This falsely wasn’t a mundane stay at home”

yup.

i doubt hades would be it
he disliked giving humanity magic, so there would be no reason for him to free prometheus

except if it leads to more deaths so more peeople in his kingdom ig

Hades didn’t specifically want to kill people, his job was making sure dead people stayed dead

My theory is that it was a titan.
The titans where defeated by the gods and imprisoned in Tartarus (maybe Makrinaos pit?)
But not all Titans where imprisoned.
Prometheus was also a Titan.
Maybe the titans wanted to weaken the gods and were sure that the greedy humans would have rebelled once they were given the power.
Both groups would have weakened and they could have had their revenge.
But something unexpected happened.
The humans managed to obtain the true power of magic: curses.
So their plans to free all titans from Tartarus had to be delayed.

Or it could be the banal obvious choice, Hades.

Why would Hades free prometheus??? He’s the whole reason why he has to stay in the underworld to guard human souls, which Prometheus created. Also hades hated the titans just as much of the other gods, he fought a war against them and had to stay in Cronos’s stomach for centuries.

NUMBER THREE: Captain William Silver of the Burning Ashes
can we get somewhat more interesting posts like this forums so dry

  1. Prometheus did not create human souls.

  2. Hades could easily have assisted Prometheus for his own agenda, just like he was responsible for Acheron (cof Durza cof) whole incident simply because he wanted to see to which point he could go.
    Hades giving crazy scientist vibes.

I think the only satisfying result for me personally would be if the entity is Creation.
Creation always felt like a weird addition, and this would make them seem a little more thought-through.
It’s also the only character with the power to actually do the things that the entity does, having domain over Spirit Energy, which is god powers, the very thing the entity manipulates.

Also, Chaos has recently been sidelined to the Seekers of Sight cultist stuff, meaning that Vetex might be placing Chaos to a side plot, and not Creation, who could be getting more of a story focus. It’d make sense with the main character being so tied to gods.

Creation isn’t sentient tho.

I mean, they’re the same “species” as Chaos and Aether, Chaos is drawn to evil actively, and Aether even made a spirit weapon.
I think Creation is at least sentient enough.

Ok, first thing, who the hell is Aether.
First time I heard of him.
Second, unlike Chaos, that is described somewhat sentient, the description of Creation says that it’s more like a passive force, kinda like gravity if I understood correctly, existing but non being, know what I mean?
Could very possibly be wrong tho, since very little is known for now.

Aether is a primodial deity from Greek Myth, mentioned in the miniboss section of the trello for having blessed a spirit weapon used by a future boss.
I feel like if “somewhat sentient” is enough to curse islands and blow up entire seas, then it’s enough to free Prometheus for whatever reason.

Perhaps its a god we dont know about… But im an advocate for it being Hades! Or… Hades adjacent hahah
