I think about this a lot and AO is just MUAH
I’ve always thought about making a game like AO since I was a kid, I loved watching anime and really wanted to make a game that could give you that MAIN CHARACTER from an anime adventure/experience.
There are many great aspects to the game especially now since the Dark Sea update you can tell that the game is going to be absolutely nuts when it’s fully fleshed out content wise. All of the current systems are pretty fun to use. From fishing, exploring, treasure hunting, PVP (open world, Munera and Elysium are all pretty fun), Dark Sea is pretty good too. Seeing all this stuff scale up over time will be cool. Eventually, the AO addiction will get too real the game is already pretty fun.
I think AO will surpass Blox Fruits Fruits when everything is fully fleshed out, even thoe AO can’t support mobile, I don’t see why anyone who plays PC would rather play Blox Fruits over AO. People say, AO is too complicated for kids but I beg to differ, A lot of teenagers and young adults play Blox Fruits over AO currently which makes sense because there’s a lot more to grind for and more interesting powers currently in Blox Fruits. I think that tier 4-5 magics, fighting styles, and weapons will be a lot more captivating than what Blox Fruits offers. That alone should captivate a really large audience not including that the grind to get said powers will be less brain-dead and more fun to attain.
Now that I think of it AO probably won’t surpass Blox Fruit player numbers, because you need a decent PC to play AO but I think overall AO will just be a better option to play for people who have a good enough PC that can pick between AO and Blox fruits or any other RPG anime games.
At some point probably during Vimir Sea next year I’ll probably be doing free advertising or something for AO cuz I absolutely love it, and think most people would enjoy playing it when it has enough content to keep them entertained for a couple of weeks just PVE wise.
Vetex took inspiration from some really good titles my favorites being “One Piece” and “Assassins Creed Black Flag”. He also brings very unique systems and characteristics to the genre. Vetex Pioneered the first MMO in Roblox that follows a story via cutscenes and is methodically put together, while also presenting something as vast and unique as the Dark Sea, no other game not even AAA games has introduced anything like what the Dark Sea offers. There is a lot going on at once and it’s all great we do have to wait for quite a bit for everything to get finished. It will be worth the wait though.
A lot of people are kinda upset that it’s taking so long to develop the game, and I can understand I too want to see the finished project of this game its made of a lot of brilliant concepts. Though to be fair since release all of the updates have been “ground work” of Implementing new systems. Before Vetex can add more content and scale up the game. I’m pretty sure we can expect a lot faster progression and see updates every 1-2 months for the game after this update. I say this confidently because Nimbus is a VERY LARGE update, bigger than dark sea and dark sea was a fairly large update. Assuming that Vetex doesn’t have to add over 40 islands and biomes in one update with different island biomes or continents that are 4x times the size of WOM… I don’t see anything that could take more time to develop than those 2. All in all, I think we’ll see Vetex’s plans come to fruition fairly quick after Nimbus release.
I think the PvP vs PVE players problem is already resolved pretty well and will be a lot less of a problem as there is more content to keep PVP players distracted, and more incentives for PVP players to hunt other PVP players rather hunting PVE players as the “empires update” comes out. Well as long as you’re not in a clan that is.
Lastly, I’d like to give credit to the smaller details that are well made in AO… The fishing system through and through is pretty good it’s fun to host events with and fish with friends, at first I didn’t like fishing, but once that I found out I could host luck events and help people minmax their gear faster also while hanging out was pretty cool. Another thing I like about AO is the movement being able to dash across long distances and using dodge reflexes mid air is pretty fun especially mid fight it really give the combat an “Anime fight scene” feel that I don’t think I’ve experienced in any other game.( not even NARUTO NINJA STORM OR DRAGON BALL) video games give the same feeling of ultra fast paced fighting like AO can.
The secrets that you find while adventuring on islands and villages, make the game feel pretty immersive, the general feel of AO just doesn’t feel like a Roblox game it’s pretty well made.
My only problem with AO would be the injustice of how the beginning of the game is so slow paced the overall effect it has on the game is kind of like “One Piece”. You got to tell people nah bro it gets good I swear. T_T Vetex says someday he will revamp the beginning progression of the game but it’s just not as important as improving further content. When he does revamp the beginning of the game I hope he adds cutscenes of really OP characters like the cutscene of the glass curse user smashing into us at Ravenna. It has to be something that gives a good representation of how the powers and overall power level in AO scales, because in the beginning and through out a fair portion of the game you don’t get to see how much powers in the world of AO scale up especially for someone who’s new to the arcane series won’t understand how much the power level scales up and that there’s actually a lot of depth in the world of AO. SO PLEASE @Vetex make a hook for the game that implies at least a little bit more theres there’s a lot more depth to ao than what you see at first glance. Make the Iris boss fight harder and more interesting at least. because everything about Frostmill is so meh compared to the rest of the content in the game. @Vetex I have two very small details that you could add to Frost Mill that would make it less bland, that you might consider you may have a better idea in mind. First in the cutscene with iris after the dialogue. Add more cutscene where Iris grabs you and throws you into a wall before the actuall fight starts. (add anything bro just give Frost Mill more spice it desperately needs it) 2nd iidea get rid of the bandit beater quest in the cave entirely add some lore to it, like make us retrieve something from the cave and the bandits with in it are to be fought just for the means to get to something within the cave. Its literally the only bandit beater quest in AO lol. I know you were in a rush to release AO when you first made frost mill… I know you could definitely do better even small changes would make a pretty big difference its that bland. Currently, Frost Mill is the place you go to so you get quests that take you to more interesting places, the easiest and most boring boss fight in the game, and a bandit beater quest. you can 100% do better. ANYTHING BRO PLEASE it’s a thorn thats sticking out in the game that is an actual hindrance to captivating more players, its pretty obvious this section of the game got the least amount of attention.
With all that said you guys have a great day AO is by far my favorite game that I’ve ever played and I want to see it get to a place where I can confidently get people to try it out and think damn this game is hard asl.
