dont worry its all gonna get wiped next month
It’s not.
In no way are these 2 equivalent, you are comparing stripping them of something they worked for your own benefit to people who are trying to trade the stuff they earned for something of value, they’re not “depriving you” of shit, since nobody is obligated to give you anything
I can’t afford it = it’s overpriced
They’re not overpricing it.
We invested a lot of time in wom to obtaining seasonals, and it only paid off several years later in ao. We correctly predicted that the value of seasonals would explode when tgr dropped and it paid off, I’m not sure why you think this means we should be entitled to give you our shit
Bro ur way to upset over seasonals ngl.
I don’t want seasonals, I’m stating an example.
i recognize i’m risking coming off as cringe by bringing this up. please understand i wouldn’t do so if i wasn’t absolutely certain it was relevant.
a lot of how AO’s workload has been distributed over the past year or so, has been gradually drawing more and more parallels to ULTRAKILL’s current dev team and how they separate the workload among the game’s developers
hakita created ultrakill. like vetex, he still does a majority of the work for the game–only, it’s really more like 60% rather than him basically doing it all himself.
nothing is done purely solo. everything he does, he has qualified people helping him every step of the way; Jacob H.H.R is credited for the prose & dialogue. he has PITR as the lead programmer on top of heckteck, cabalcrow, lucas varney and ben moir. francis xie, jericho_rus and bigrockbmp have collectively designed pretty much every character in the game, and victoria holland assists as the lead 3d artist by modeling damn-near everything and basically carrying the graphics programming on her shoulders.
we’ve had a lot of major updates come at a pretty reasonable pace over here, and it’s because of this. i’ve been hearing about vetex beginning to take on more people for modeling and programming and the like, and i think it’s a step in the right direction. i feel like over time, AO’s dev structure is going to start to look more and more like UK’s dev team is doing.
or at least that’s what i’m hoping.
Surely I agree
“Disrespect of the Arcane Odyssey PvP Community”
be so for real, they deserve it
the actual reason its dying is because the actual beefy updates (story/levels) take forever
Again, let’s talk a Blasted Power Amulet, I’ve gotten 5 in less time then I get 2 sunkens, yet they’re being sold for 2+ sunkens EACH, how is that not being overpriced?
By giving a price that is above said fair price, you are depriving a person of the extra price they had to pay to compensate the different in the fair price and price demanded.
5hours MAX to the the halloween event is equal to hundreds of hours of value in AO…
Dark sealed chests are literally the endgame.
There is very little else to grind.
If your ass is waiting to see ships with dark sealed chests and justifying it by saying “they probably overprice stuff so I’ll steal their stuff too!” take your delusions and screw off.
Once again, I don’t want seasonals, I did the halloween event myself. I have all the ones I want, I am just stating an example therefore trying to call me “broke” or that I think it’s overpriced because “i can’t afford it” are completely useless arguments
also while i don’t blame vetex for his overall response towards the pvp community (i kind of regret celebrating it, in hindsight) i think, regardless of whether or not he was justified, i wouldn’t rule out that overall attitude as being a contributing factor towards how we got here in the first place.
seems like he recognized that doing all of the balance changes alongside the main stuff wasn’t healthy for him and he made the right call to get someone else to handle the balance stuff while he dedicated his own time on the stuff he felt mattered more
(i’m writing all of this on no sleep be nice to me)
Because that’s how value works? The value is equal to whatever people are willing to pay for it. If you don’t think it’s worth it then cool! You’re free to grind yourself instead.
Wow it’s almost like people want to earn a profit when trading, as said before, value is what people are willing to pay. If people are willing to pay a certain price for something, then selling that thing for that price is a fair price
5 hours + several years of appreciation in value
Still not equivalent.
They could simply choose not to purchase whatever they see as “overpriced.”
They did not ask for you to jump them and steal their effort grinding.
Overpriced is when i personally cant afford something, the more i cant afford it the more overpriced it is
Sigma boy.
i mean theres a lot of really good loot thats dark sea-exclusive isnt it
this is just kind of really fucking obnoxious
Bad faith false equivalence argument reeking of entitlement and laziness, easy ban.
Pretty much all loot obtained from the dark sea is dark sea exclusive.
If it has an atlantean modifier, its dark sea exclusive lol.
Holy yap bro stop yapping
In all seriousness though can someone summarize this reply thread for me
