Why did the spell circle/runes when you cast any spell get changed

For example, in World of Magic, the spell casting circles were much more detailed, and even changed size depending on the power of your spells. But in Arcane Odyssey, the design was practically ruined, and just looks lazy, and to my knowledge, doesnt change size, unless im completely wrong and changes size due to attack size modifiers. Is the new model improvised, was the old one unable to be re-used? Im genuinely confused about this and its really just personal preference.

World of magic took place far into the future, so magic & magic had become much more advanced by then. Since arcane odyssey only takes place around the same time period Arcane Adventures, magic isn’t as advanced as it is in Magius.

Arcane Odyssey’s place in the timeline is around a month after AA, so Magic, and by extension, Magic Circles, isn’t nearly as advanced. If you get lucky, the idea for Magic Circle packs on the Monetization Ideas card in the Trello will get used and you can change what Circles you use.

cuz like who tf cares? you’ll never look at the magic circles anyways

I look at them tho

WoM circles were goated especially since translating the runes said something, I think the new ones fit better for AO though.

But that being said I do wish that more ancient text stuff gets added because the fact that there is ONE ancient text thing in an entire sea is simply tragic

i think the new design looks nice, it might have been simplified but it’s a bit extreme to say it’s ruined and lazy imo

Less advanced than what Wom wizards and the like had when Wom was still canon.

More/slightly more advanced than the 7 seas though.

7 Seas:

War Seas (Credit to Tobi):

Wom/Magius (Credit to quest5):

Magius mages had a 1,000 years to develop circles to get to this level so it’d make sense why it would’ve been more complex.

What did one of them translates to? Am curious

Gotta pm it due to rules

The others have made the point about the fact that World of Magic takes place much further into the future of the Arcane world, but they missed a key detail:

The magic circles are actually ancient.
They were a very old design that, for unknown reasons, resurfaced and became a standard in Magius (Vetex has confirmed this). This allows magic users to get even more powerful - more than the Seven Seas and likely even the War Seas wizards could have been. (First part here was confirmed too; the circle’s design enhances the power of magic in some way - possibly by sheer potential as the original World of Magic final level cap was intended to be around 5,000)
