I have basically zero knowledge of either these shows besides having heard some bad things about the writing/character design/Vivziepop being a contender for the title of “I can’t handle criticism”, but what are peoples’ unfiltered opinions on them that aren’t just “it’s bad bc it’s cringe/popular”?
To my knowledge a lot of the issues people have boil down to the writing. There’s a reason why the “If Vivziepop wrote X” memes exist to this day. Though the main criticism that comes to mind is how romance is handled in Helluva Boss. On the other hand some of those same issues (like character design) are some of the main reasons people might enjoy the shows. Outside of this I can’t really think of anything else that isn’t just the usual unimportant internet drama.
It’s kinda a grey zone because people dislike the show for a myriad of different reasons.
I don’t like the shows incessant swearing and raunchy humor, i think they definitely overdo it. Kinda comes across like “maturity is sex jokes and dropping the f bomb!”
Meh, that’s just me though. Some people find that funny and it’s not my place to say they are weong to.

Anyway I watched the pilot of HB and then six and a half episodes, wasn’t awful overall but wasn’t really for me
average dialogue is “shit fuck ass dick bitch fuck fuck fuck fuck fcuk ass”

Besides the sex and swear jokes that boil down to the humor of a 12 year old on tiktok
The writing is a pretty bad portrayal of SA victims and several other sensitive topics that I heard of. Really Viz is just bad at writing
vivziepop has some pretty unlikeable personality traits and the show devolved into the average netflix family ripoff in terms of comedy, hence the hate
some people like those unlikeable personality traits, or they find the show ironically entertaining, hence the love
such is life
Surprisingly enough it actually seems quite tiresome watching a series where it feels like every character is a 6 year old who discovered profanity for the first time
its too dull
all they do is kill shit while swearing and talking about fucking or something along those lines, then a character is depressed for like a few minutes and the show acts serious, very predictable
idk its just my opnion
