I don’t know why, and also they’re not the best ship parts. (in terms of stats)
Drip,
Also maybe they don’t care enough to grind for silver hull
I use them because they have a decent spread of stats, whereas the parts added in Nimbus have more of a focus on a singular one, such as willow sail losing the 3 res for 1 speed, and silver frame losing turn and speed for defense and stab
I spent 2+ hours in the dark sea for them
why do people not trade…
They’re the most balanced stat-wise.
If you want a ship that’s good at just about everything, it’s the way to go.
They give attack size
To some the archaic stuff is negative drip
Loosely related to your second point, a lot of people got archaic ship parts before silver ship parts were added. The two are so similar in stats that it really doesn’t matter (well given the state of minmaxxing, they probably would care about the extra speed and just don’t wanna fight the nimbus sea ships or care about diving charts).
Also one of them is blue and the higher perceived rarity probably does some sort of mind games.
I don’t like how Archaic hull looks, but I’ve run the stats through, and I’d prefer the Archaic hull from the silver one.
the archaic sail is simply the best sail so theres that
id use the hull if it didnt ruin customisation except for those specific people who want a ruined ship
EXTREMELY_LOUD_INCORRECT_BUZZER.mp4 (yes, it is ear-destroying so please lower your volume)
All rounded stats, I can have 14.4k hp, okay stability, nearly 100 turning and 134 speed using it
i minmax with 150+ brig speed
are you seriously trying to tell me 1 speed is better than 3% resilience
like i get minmaxing speed but thats just plain stupid, you will go faster overall with an archaic sail than a willow one
Life or Archaic hull for clean Brig?
Not if I already have 100% resilience by using one singular resilience deckhand.
Sure, this may very well be slower than by using speed deckhands, but we’d only be able to tell by comparing the two or by asking vetex for resilience speed calculations.
they are good
willow sail + resilience deckhand is 12 speed, 9 resilience
archaic sail + speed deckhand is 18 speed, 3 resilience
imo its not worth trading 6 speed for 6 resilience, and thats assuming you somehow land perfectly on 100% resilience with the deckhand rather than waste potential resilience by going over that
but anyway if you arent trying to metamance its fine. i still think the archaic sail is objectively better than willow overall but on a fairly negligible level
