Why does Desync exist?

every other game i played on roblox with projectiles doesnt have it so why does AO have it and why hasn’t it been fixed yet?

its a big problem in pvp because ur forced to predict block instead of just reacting to the projectile comin at u

because of lag, literally

other games that lag do not have this issue so why does AO have it

almost every game has desync, just not as severe

AO is just a particularly laggy game

theres gotta be some coding error because why is there desync in an elysium with 4 players and i have 60 ping there. i see a blast go to the side of my screen and it somehow hits me

for there to be absolutely no desync you would have to be in the same room on the same wifi provider as everyone else in your server

again desync is just lag, every game has it but severity of it varies on how laggy the game itself actually is

alr i guess ao gon be less laggy as time goes

desync in ao happens because combat is client-sided, hits register on the attacker’s screen and not the target’s.

this also makes pve ping-free if you’re not fighting with someone else, the npcs kinda start freaking out on someones screen if they start targeting someone else.

idk exactly what would happen if combat was server-sided, but it would certainly have worse performance since ao is laggy

oh cool

Ah so Vetex only has the anticheat against players and not NPCs, no wonder exploiters who deal multiple low damage without any cooldown against any npc still exists in the game.

makes sense since u dont rlly get anything from npcs so its not an issue

They’re often used as a faster way to level up for them.

it had gotten worse to the point that you can do 800 dmg on someones client body and you have to chase them like a dog

Lately the server performance has been so bad that even in fresh servers near where I live people are teleporting around and rubber banding, leaving behind flesh homunculi that can be hit by attacks making it impossible to avoid and turning PVP into an utterly broken steaming pile of feces.
