This is the formula used to calculate size/speed modifiers, damage isn’t consistent with weight and depends on the weapon type.
I’m wondering why they decided to do this using a hidden feature that accomplishes virtually the same thing as the stat affinities instead of just for example making daggers be faster and smaller

These stats are relative to their weapon type. If they were to be universal for all weapon types ig it’d be very confusing when comparing similar weapons. My guess is that it’s easier to balance stats around a particular type than trying to reach an equilibrium using a universal system.
That and Vetex said he hated doing UI stuff in a QnA, but I could be misremembering
