I mean, this is harsh reality for devs and creators but they owe their players and communities everything.
The fact that Vetex thinks he doesn’t owe us anything is a laughable position, This adds with the fact that people are constantly suppressed for criticism and “doomposting”
This is enough for people to exercise “Ok i won’t play your game then” and “Ok I’m not gonna pay you anymore then”
And it’s not like I know about his income but it DEFFIENTLY did reflect on his game’s player count, it also adds that he basically took little to no accountability to most game breaking issues and problems
All together pretty much dropped AO and it’s community to a very low level, I AM HOWEVER happy that the dev team is improving, especially with moochezz joining the team which allows more freedom to developing actual content other then moves and balance changes happening faster
sadly that can’t erase what happened, I’m hoping the dev team can continue the good work and get AO back to where it belongs.
and Vetex? Hopefully he get’s over his issues, I can kind of understand his issues but he really does have to get over them cuz… well he’s still is an adult, and once that’s over I’m sure Vetex can improve his image back to a respectable and passionate Dev and not some “I am your king and you are a peasant” nonsense

Vetex doesn’t care if no one is playing his game, he’ll finish it all the same. That’s why he thinks he doesn’t owe us anything
This is also a free to play and free to win game so no, he doesn’t owe us anything but time, which can never be recompensed
This isn’t true, from my knowledge Vetex is living on Patreon and player purchases, and I’m sure he also pays the Dev team a margin of revenue
If players quit and patrons give up due to his bad attitude then he needs to get a different job, efficiently stopping his AO development life.
It’s in his and our best interests that he appeals to us, we aren’t his fucking slaves and we shouldn’t be afraid to quit
I haven’t seen anybody suppressed for actual criticism, but I have seen people rant genuine nonsense and get banned for it (typically including personal insults towards vetex).

If AO dropped off the radar and only got exactly 0 players, the project would end very quickly.
They didn’t close text channels official servers for no reason, It’s not like they listen to the community so far either, Just recently I feel like they have been but so far? Nah
